One more newb question on lighting

what do you mean by 6" hood?

The footprint for 600 HPS is about 4'x4' (foot)..which equals about 4-6 flowering females

One more newb question on lighting

we call the light fixtures " hoods".

What is the the area for a 6" 1000 watt hood? I'm gonna break it down. Please excuse the newb talk.
    I have 13 plants flowering. I have 10 under t5 lights and 3 under a 600 HPS. I also have a 1000 watt switchable ballast i can hook up.
Should I put them all under the 1000 watt? or keep them the way they are? The reason I ask is the ones under the T5's are doing just fine. I do have pics ,but I don't know how to post them.

    The NEWB Flowering count
    1- Alaskan thunder fuck
    1- sweet tooth
    6- Purple Odyssey
5- Purple Train Wreck I do have 2 more Sweet Tooth clones but I segregated them because they look retarded or deformed for some reason.

I would think you are going to have to control your plants I know that the train wreck is going to be all over the place. You will notice a difference in your buds later on. The 600 will be bigger lighter and just overall better. The t5 will be good but not like the 600. You should look into LST your plants to help maximize your yield and quality.

One more newb question on lighting

I'm growing with T5 only, I'm trying to really maximize proximity to the light and a small box with lots of reflectivity to get the most out of the grow. Get all the light into the plants.

It won't be like the big lights but I'm hoping to get close with these techniques.

My first grow so still have to see.
