my JR. plant doesnt look very well

i just bought a OG kush clone about a week ago from a friend. she is about 5.5 inches tall and she doesnt look very well.....for info...she is in a normal 5 gallon bucket with holes drilled at the bottom for drainage. the bucket is filled with miracle grow premium potting soil. there are three 100 watt cfl light bulbs suspended with yarn about 6 or 7 inches abover her the room temp is kept relatively constant with maybe a very small change in the night exact temperature unknown but im positive it never goes above 80 and never below 60 as she is in my closet and house is kept at a constant temp. i watered her when i first got her and then about every couple days when the dirt is starting to feel dry like i said she is in dirt so its not a hydro system....as far as whats wrong her leaves seem to be turning brown and some of her new leaves on the top are turning dark green shriveling up and curling up and to one side along with some of the very tips are all brown and pointy...its all her new leaves top and bottom thsi is one pic if any one can tell me something it would be very helpful Attachment 281785

    Big enough pot your in!

    That sure looks sickly.

    I would suspect miracle grow.

I'm an fox ocean fan but have heard things about both soils.

Something more neutral for a young plant maybe?

I'm a classic overwaterer but I believe in keeping them wet. I just have to tone it down to avoid mold in the long run.

    (my new theory)

I water every night, may be just a little, but some.

You're going to run out of light pretty soon if they get any bigger.

You're talking about a 23watt light that puts out the lumins of a 100 watt light?

Perhaps nute lock out, or possibly nute burn. I'm guessing the miracle grow soil you used feeds plants over time? Should say so on the bag.. also hopefully you're not adding any extra nutes when you're watering. What was the root structure like when you received the clone? And how long was the clone given to grow roots before you transplanted into the 5 gallon bucket?

You need to cover that thing with some sort of humidity tent or lightly mist it if the roots aren't fully developed. Also its too late now but that 5 gallon bucket is way too large of a container for that clone, transplanting isn't a bad thing if you do it properly.

Bottom line is... I think you've lost this thing unless you know for a fact it has a strong root system hidden in there somewhere, then you could possibly revive it but I wouldn't count on it. Clones can be very sensitive until they've thoroughly settled in. Just make sure that next time you try it you use a neutral soil that doesn't feed your plants, and also make sure that you test the ph properly. Without knowing your soils PH level it can be very difficult to diagnose plant problems. Feel free to reply or msg me with any more questions you might have. I'm not a full on veteran professional grower but I'll help where I can and won't recommend doing anything that I am not sure of in the first place. Good luck!

Also... Did you spray it with anything? Possibly a fertilizer or insecticide? That thing appears to have some serious burns from something. I say that because I recently ran into a couple issues when I was testing some new products on my plants and it looks very similar.

ok thanxs people that was helpful someone else said miracle grow wasnt so good so this was kinda a conformation so i went and got a smaller pot about 6" at the top rim and maybe as deep and i switched to fox farms ocean something potting soil (it has natural nutes where miracle ... has artificial.) i put a small vicks humidifier in the room(obviously w/o the liquid vicks add) and i have a fan the lights are about 5.5 from her highest leafs (the plant store i went to said that leaves curling up are usually searching for nutes while leaves curling down are getting a lockout from to much..)...to the last post yea i did spray it with a anti spider mite plant spray (ferti-lome indoor outdoor multi purpose insect spray...we previously had due to house plant gnats)[attachment=o281810]

also when i trasnplanted her she didnt seem like she had lots of roots but the one she did have looked pretty good, white not yellow, not shriveling, no smell ect. when i got the plant she was in like a coton swab consistency sponge....i would imagine i was like a rock wool something for clones? i was told not to take her out but i peeled the outer layer off so the roots could grow into the soil faster just now when i transplanted it looked as if it help as the were roots protruding and like i said they are the 23wt 100wt equivalent cfl light bulbs in cool white....correct me if im wrong but i read during vegetative the plant needs more blue light thus cool white and when i start to flower switch to warm white for more reds??

Correct on the lighting as far as color temp goes, but you'll want to consider getting a HPS bulb/ballast for flowering.

However as for the current condition of your clone... looks like I guessed right about the spray... It looks a lot like what happened when I went into panic mode after discovering spider mites. I thought I had killed a couple of my young plants because the leaves were severely burned like yours. Good news was that I didn't kill off the nodes and it took a long time but they came back to life. It took a couple sets of new growth before the new stuff started to look normal again, anything that came in contact with my organic insecticide was mutated. By the looks of your clone it appears as though there is some growth that wasn't severely burned so I'd say you've got a fair chance to revive it, so good luck. Just make sure you don't make too many changes to its conditions during its time of recovery or it'll go into shock and you'll struggle even more. Keep away from feeding it any nutes, and if you do for some reason make sure its something to help root developement.

One more thing, it can be tempting to remove damaged growth but as long as it is green and still photosynthesising you should keep it.
