Will this string catch on fire?
Hey guys. Ok, so I bought a light fixture from Amazon, but the pulley system pictured by the seller was not the one I received. It was lower quality and did not even fit into the top of the light. SO I had to improvise. I'm going to show you a picture, and I'd like you to tell me if you think that there's a risk of the string (where I tied it to) has a chance of catching on fire? The string is nylon, I think.

Thank you!
So I say live and let live. That's my motto: Live and let live. Anyone who can't go along with that, take 'em outside and shoot the motherf*cker. It's a simple philosophy, but it's always worked in our family.

Will this string catch on fire?
There is supposed to be an S-hook on the fixture and a carabiner on the end of the string. The carabiner slips over the hook.
So, string > carabiner > s-hook > light fixture.

A friend of mine used something similar, boot laces, they dried up after 3 months and broke,,could have been terrible accident,,use a chain set up,, a lot safer

@Hipster: There was no S shaped anything on the light fixture, the people that I bought from were misleading. I should have known better, after I got it I saw that they had a 2 and a half star rating from like, 100 people. Their stuff is cheap though, and I guess you get what you pay for. I appreciate the responses, I'm going to figure something out. This is my first grow, and I shall not let ANYTHING stop meh!!
@Bass3rd: These aren't shoelaces, their a much stronger material. LOL I can't believe he did that :b

You can buy replacement parts at the hardware store: the s-hooks and carabiners.
