PGS420 gets bored again...
So as I've been talking to my friend, it was suggested to me that I "lollipop" my dwc plant. I was unsure of this method and honestly had no intentions of doing it. But seeing as how I sent it into flowering yesterday, I like the way the plant grows, and I was bored as hell; I decided to strip the bottom six inches of growth and make as many clones as I could from it. I did pretty well but I would like some advice. Does everybody trim the bottom growth before flowering? Here's some pics too....

for a start i have to congratulate you on that fine looking thing...to be giving you advice is proberbly not right, but anyway here goes...
i lollipoped on my last grow(led) because my light doesnt penetrate that deep.it goes to maybe 8-10 inches so after tying her down for weeks i had a continues
flat canopy 8 inches deep straight across and yeilded twice as much GOOD bud as before(no small shit)
my advice to you, even though you are much more competent than i am, would be to figure out how deep your light penetrates(after 4 grows you should know)
and then trim all below.
good luck with your grow, even though you dont need it:thumbsup:

lolly pop, lolly pop, ohh lolly lolly pop, lolly pop! (POP!) ba bum bum bum lolly..
lolly popping helps fight pm and humidity, promotes growth up top and allows for better control of sub canopy environment. i say, its essential element of fine tuning environment.
i even keep a small fan at surface of grow medium lvl, to move all that stale air. my controller sits at main cola lvl, and i noticed my humidifier didnt kick on when sub canopy humidity was almost 55.. lolly pop and small fan fixed that for me..
looks good,
ciao, damp

I gave all my plants a good trimming at the bottom before bloom. You can check out my LED grow here under indoor growing, Testing the Pro-Grow 260 LED light. Also here, LED LOGGER
I think its a great idea to get rid of those wasteful popcorn buds on the bottom. They never really generate into anything smokable. So why not cut them out to let the plant focus more energy towards the top.
Looking good prettygirl. I like to read your posts. You are a seasoned grower.I'm giving advice to a pro

Haha I love that we are sharing this experiance Ga, great minds sometime think alike right?
And I really do appreciate the imput from everybody.
S.l. oh stop!I still have a lot to learn.
This is the first time I have handled a plant this big and this is a new experiance and quite the adventure for me! I'm loving the restults of my hydro compared to the dirt plants. And I love the difference in quality from tye clones and the seeding. I had the opportunity to experament between grows, so I did. I don't think I will have that much room for experamenting next time because I have three patients to grow for. Fortunately there is a little more room because of the little space I built, so who knows, I might start one bucket again, as my personal plant, same set up, different variations. I want to actually have acouple good plants grown before I do more than one at a time. Don't wanna overwhelm myself and get discouraged now cuz this is great so far!

I have never done any certain type of trimming, I pretty much trim through the entire grow that way there is no huge shock all at once. If you start and keep things opened up during the entire grow the plant is used to it and the shock% goes down allot. We can bend, twist, tweak, tie, cage and whatever else you want to add but bottom line is no matter what you do the less shock the plant gets the better all around grow you will have.

Keep the undergrowth to a minimum. Doing so will allow the plant to redirect energy into new growth instead of trying to repair or maintain weaker, older undergrowth.
Doing so also gets rid of great places for PM, and bugs to take hold...
Also, healthier plant, larger yields, and faster growth rates are some pretty awesome side effects of lollypopping.
Hope this helpsIf I pollinate a plant in the corner of my basement, does that make me a breeder?:i feel stupid:
If you have questions, feel free to message me. The more successful growers there are out there, the better this world is!
