That's one way to do it.
Force Flowering (going right to 12/12) will actually save you time. That is one of the reasons that method is so poular among many growers.

Looking at your pictures, I notice the container your plant is in is very small. root development is directly related to your plants health and will greatly impact your yield.
If you repot that plant into a container that is double the size of the one you are using you can potentially double your yield. Keep in mind your plant will get much larger during flowering.
The second benefit to repotting that plant is that you wont have to deal with your plant becoming root bound part way through flowering which will not only decrease your yield, but also the bud quality.
Repotting earlier next time will save you a lot of time in veg as the roots will grow unrestricted. As roots become restricted and meet resistance, they are not able to grow as fast. This leads to slower plant growth and potential for disease to set in and cause further problems. One of the reason plants grow so much faster in hydro is because roots dont have to push through much grow medium if at all, and gravity often assists root growth. This, combined with pre-chelated nutrients makes for some mind blowing growth rates and yields.
the only reason I mention the hydro thing is for example only. I realize you're in soil, but the same principals apply. Repot your plant=bigger plant, healthier roots, better yield and bud quality.
Also, If you do repot, try to use the same soil mix you used before. lightening the mix to reduce resistance at this point will make for problems because your core root ball will always hold more water than the soil surrounding it. This will deter the roots from growing into the new soil because, after all, roots are always in search of food and water, and they will resist groing from a wet environment into a dryer one...

Side note: dont cut your soil more than 50/50 with perlite (depending on the mix). too much perlite will allow the soil to dry out too quickly in spots and the roots wont want to grow into it.
