I missed this here, found it searching though.

Looks good and I was desperately needing it.

I didn't like how rough he was with the buds though.

Also I'm thinking a peroxide/water bath and a rinse bath or two.

    Gently!

I'm just thinking about the poor little tricombs getting washed away...

I've been dealing with powdery mildew quite a bit in the last year.. I use an organic spray consisting of mostly oils, the important one being garlic, which is supposed to raise the Ph on the leaves from it's natural sulfur content. I also have a burner in the room that I burn sulphur in during the dark cycle. 1 hour, 3 nights later 1 hour more. Seems to be working.. Making sure not to over water helps too.

One thing I've noticed is that the mildew doesn't really seem to get in the flowers and stops at the sugar leaves.. Instead of Jorge's washing method, I simply pluck the leaves (during "trimming") and have gotten great results and the bud was good as ever.

Seriously Tacman7, try plucking before washing!!

    Peace,

    Farmer Rich

PS - That G13 Haze in my other post was a huge problem that I fought the entire grow.. clean now after about 6 hours of plucking..

the west coast has the best pm

I use greencure up to the day of harvest...spot spray as I need to... as I see it... in flower

At harvest I do a pre trim of all the leaves.... if i see any pm I hit it one last time with the greencure.... Greeencures active ingredient is BICarb totally organic....its main use is for food production

PM if caught early will not pretrate the buds.... it will only reside on the outer leaves.....bud mold is alot more destructive IMO

I have noticed that pm does leave permanante scar or white marks on the leaves after it has been sprayed and killed

It would seem more efficient to trim the fan leaf before you rinse off the Greencure and PM.

They will dry a lot faster too.

The fan leaves yes.... as you trim sometimes the pm hides under a leaf.... on top of another leaf....

Who rinses off the pm and greencure?? greencure doesnt effect the taste of cured weed/ final product

I'm harvesting today and I plan to have 3 baths setup with peroxide and two rinses then

GENTLY swish them around in the baths as they're cut from the plant.

Just got to get all my ducks in a row first.

I've trimmed most powdery fans but will do some more trimming as buds are removed, I think.

First harvest so getting antsy, need to calm down, ahhh this will do here...

Have to get your mind right first off.

I wouldn't recommend doing any of that swishing around shit.. IMHO I think that would cause you more trouble than it's worth. In my experience it isn't necessary at all. As said earlier, treat it as best you can during the grow. I use the product in the picture that and a 1 gallon sprayer from WM that cost $8.97. This should last easily the next year, so it's pretty inexpensive when you think about it. 1.5 oz per gallon product:water ratio. Also, make sure you have air moving around the space and if you have plants that sit next to an exterior wall you should rotate them away from the wall if possible. You can use this spray liberally, but I always avoid spraying directly on flowers. Lastly, don't overwater..

If you get ahead of it, by harvest most of the powdery mildew should be dried up and not spreading.. Chop as you normally would, but instead of using scissors, try plucking the sugar leaves by hand. It's really not that much more tedious than trimming. You'll most likely end of with nice clean bud that taste just fine..

    Peace,

    Farmer Rich

The wash went well and everything looks good. I think I'm going to be sure I avoid getting it in the first place from now on.

    Try anyway.

It was a very gentle swishing, a lot less trauma than the video for sure.

Tricombs are supposed to be resilient at this stage and very brittle as they dry so hopefully they're still on board.

Now I have to learn to trim.
