Grow Size and other Basic Questions from a NOOB

Sorry to post questions I\'m sure have been answered 1000 times but I wanted my own thread for my own circumstances... call me selfish.

First off I\'ve never grown before but am considering for cost effectiveness of my herb consumption. I normally go through about an ounce every 2 weeks give or take a few days if I have time off. My first priority is stealth. I\'m not sure where I will be living (apartment or house with or without a few friends for roommates) when I start this project in a month or 2.

I realize most indoor setups can be done in a closet which would be ideal for me. I stumbled across dealzer.com and their products and was wondering which cabinet would be sufficient for my needs? I would want to be self sufficient and produce enough bud for me to toke on while the next batch is in the oven. My first thought was to get the PC Grow Box that only houses 2 plants. They claim I could yield 3 pounds which seems very very unlikely. I don\'t want to buy something too small the first time around and have to drop more money on another setup so I\'ve also been looking at the Super Box 5 in 1 Hydroponic Cabinet that holds 10 plants. The only problem is that one looks a bit more complicated. Then again I am looking for quality bud so I\'m willing to invest more if the returns in yield are worth it.

Another concern is the systems themselves. They claim they can be used to grow herbs, vegetables, fruits, and flowers so could they be used for my intended purpose without modification? Is the lighting system right for growing?

Sorry for all the questions but I\'m new to this and the idea of being self sustaining is pretty exciting. Any advice and recommendations to other products are greatly appreciated.

Thats probably for legal herbs? I think the 4 or 8 man tent from BC Northern Lights might be my best bet. I\\\'m thinking for the amount of time I would be investing in this I might as well go for 8 instead of 4 right? Theres no way I can smoke off of 4 plants for 4 or 5 months while I wait on the next crop if a plant yields an ounce. I\\\'m thinking 8 might be perfect for my needs. My only concern is the lights that come with that setup since it says it includes everything but seeds. Oh and obviously smell. I would have to rig some kind of air scrubber or something if I were living in an apartment.

You\'ll have to forgive all these questions but how would I maintain a clone for mothers from the first batch with that tent setup? I think I read a clone will yield more weight?

Bear in mind that a lot of advertising claiming gigantic yields use wet weight after harvest in optimal conditions; dry weight after curing will be significantly lower.


I got a cheap used dresser and converted it into a grow box. Throw in a 150w HPS or a CFL array and you have a pretty good chance. With that and an autoflower strain, you could harvest every 8 or so weeks and smoke 3-4 weeks after that (proper curing). If you take clones and start them right as you begin to flower your mother plants, you should have a rolling cycle going. Or something, that all might be jibberish after the bong hit I just took.

Nobodys commented on lights yet.. Thats my main concern. Well that and the whole smell thing but I think I may have a solution for that. Assuming I can get a definite plan setup for a setup what strains are the heartiest and easiest to grow? Out of all the bud I\'ve tried white widow was by far my favorite. It was the most mellow enjoyable high and it had a heavy body high that I like. I think the most intense was bubbleberry? I think it was a cross between blueberry and bubblegum. Either way it straight mindfucked me. I zoned out to another dimension haha. Very awkward high in public or around people you don\'t know.
