You can grow start to finish with just about anything - MH, HPS, CFL, LED, etc. People swap bulbs b/c different bulbs provide optimal light for different stages of growth. You might consider a 250w Ceramic Metal Halide. It does very well for all stages.

You need to do your homework if you are are serious about this venture. Start by reading the threads in my signature. Then read anything / everything you can get your hands on.
