    Marijuana Allergy?

Earlier in the year I bought a pair of shoes that were made out of organic hemp for a trip I was going on. The next morning when I arrived in Orlando, I had to be taken to the hospital for feet and leg swelling. The hospital tried to say that it was due to a bad sunburn that I had, but I wasn't sure. For the whole week that I was there my legs were swollen. The swelling would go down at night, but the next morning would return as I went on with my day. The organic hemp shoes were the only pair of shoes that I had, so I wore them throughout the trip. When I returned home, I went to my family doctor to see what she thought. She proposed that I had an allergic reaction to hemp. I got rid of the shoes, and sometime after the swelling went down. I contacted the shoe company, and they said it could have been an allergic reaction to the EVA lining or to a dye used in the shoes. So my questions are as follows:

Is it possible to be allergic to marijuana (cannabis) if you ARE allergic to hemp?

If you smoke it, can anything deadly come of it (closed airway, etc)?

Is it possible to smoke it as long as you don't come in contact with the plant (bowls/bongs vs blunts/joints)?

I've never smoked it before, so I'm curious as to what could happen if I choose to try it, or if I'm around people who are smoking it.

Cannabis is nothing to be afraid of.... Most doctors have been taught that anything cannabis related is not good for people....couldn't be further from the truth....

However if you do decide to try and you are allergic, call guinness world records for review....

I think it possible maybe, but if it was the chemical they put in the shoes that made you react, bot the hemp, I don't see why it would.

    Marijuana Allergy?

I would be surprised to hear of anyone allergic to Cannibis! ". . . call guinness world records for review. " per CGI.

I am allergic to tobacco. However, when I have Cannibis Inhaled, I do not have a reaction to the tobacco! So, I have to Keep Tok'n to be able to breathe while around or near tobacco! Unfortunately, I do not find the smell of tobacco offensive and often forget to toke!

Many here have reported having Asthma and COPD, conditions of the lungs and able to use Cannabis rather than prescribed medications. One, as I recall (forget member name) grew up with 2 M.D. parents and was happy to leave home and stop medications prescribed and replaced with Cannibis!

Swelling of the legs and redness can be caused by many things. Not knowing your age, etc. cannot know for sure. However, bed bugs can cause that, as well! You did mention the symptoms of a reaction, such as respiratory distress and did not report it.

I am inclined to guess that it was something in the 'Manufacturing' materials to make the shoes. And you should certainly find out what it was. You need to know. Glues, dyes and unknown materials? If you have a pal that uses Cannabis, expose yourself! You may find you can have a nice pleasant 'trip' with the feeling of wellness!! Good Luck and hope to hear if you find out for sure, what caused the problem with your legs. It is good to question your Dr. on a point that is so vaque.

Am not saying it is totally impossible, as people have been known to be allergic to pills we actually treat people for allergic reactions with!

I would recommend a nice :rastasmoke:for you! :thumbsupr

Have your doctor give you an allergy test. You will then know what you are allergic to (pollen, danders, mold, dyes, ect) its simple and it will ease your mind.
