First time grow, need advice on planting germinated seeds.
I could really use some advice from someone who is good at this. I'm doing my first grow and i got 5 hindu kush seeds, i soaked them for 24 hours in water, then germinated for a couple days. today i went to plant 3 of them in the rooting blocks. im wondering if i let the root tip get to long, they were very hard to place root tale in the block. i worried i was too rough. so my questions, are these seed germinated to long, and what effects does being rough on a seed have to its growing abillity. i tried to be very carefull, but i had to force it into the block. im still waiting on the last two to germinate. hopefully tommarow night.
thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out. Attachment 280282Attachment 280285Attachment 280286growersapprentice Reviewed by growersapprentice on . First time grow, need advice on planting germinated seeds.
Well, I have a seedling growing that I.was very rough on during it baby days.
I had to massage the dirt all out from the baby.roots and place it in a rockwool cube. Mine was a bit bigger than your tiny little seedlings, but the roots still took some stress being forced into the narrow hole in the rockwool. It took awhile for me to notice progress in the growth ( the roots had to work there way dwn into the rockwool) but once I saw the tiny root poke through the bottom of the cube, I put it in my hydro bucket. What medium do u plan on finishing your grow in?? I think ur babys should be fine, its hard to kill a weed.
I don't think you over germinated them either, I germinate my seeds differently than most ppl. My friend saw what I was doing and chuckled, saying how my seeds would never sprout if I did it that way, but I have 4 super healthy seedlings. there's a few diff ways that work, whatever floats ur boat.

If the seeds are floating they are not going to sprout. You want them to sink.
Can I ask if you planted those seeds with the tap root up? It just looks that way in the pic.

im going to use soil as a medium. i attempted to plant them root tip down. it kind of worked, i think they were a little to long, is soil easier than a rooting plug? i'm looking at the 3 i plated yesterday starting to come up and they dont look that good, i think i see the beggining of the plant but its kinda folded over on itself. let me know if you guys would suggest using soil instead of a rooting plug. i think i might have to try this again. 50$ on five wasted seeds. shitty buzz ah.
Thanks dudes/dudettes. you ppl rock.

You can use those plugs if ya want.. Just need to drop it in the hole when it cracks open. Need not wait to get a dragon tail on it. I know it was hard to plant. Those plugs are kinda hard to wallow out,anyway.. I do like them cause of being organic matter.
Now I see the top of it.. Your gonna do fine! If you use soil? Use some of the other suggested soils other than MG.. Use that when they are 10 inches tall or so. They'll be able to handle the soil better at that time.

I would'nt say they grow better with Dragon Tails, for sure. Just crack them. Those tails need to be below the soil, before they turn into tails. That's why I just crack them.

If you choose to use the Fox Farm? You don't need the perilite. There are several of us that have great advice for your situation. Check out a few of our posts and you'll see differences, but you'll have the same end result. I would think that was worth it's weight in gold! With that price soaring? Man! 2 Years I'll cash out!lol! Not.... That was as brain Fart! Oops...
I would think you were trying to suit your budget. Nothing wrong with that! Been there done that! Don't get me wrong.. I'm so high!
