Try not to smoke for the whole day and then smoke later at night. My outlook to keep me going at this is, the longer i wait the better that first bowl will be. And then after getting baked and not smoking as much i will be able to just go to sleep. Which means....I smoke less then i would if i smoked all day. Ok so maybe this wont work for everyone.... but yeah just thought id share.

Here's a good rule: Wait six hours after you wake up to blaze. I find that if I wake and bake all the time, it makes me into a slug/herb fiend. Give yourself some time to wake up in the morning.

I used to have the same problem as you, so I bought a scale. This helps with portion control. I always weigh out 2 G's per day. If I smoke 2 g's before the day's over, then too bad. It's a good way to discipline yourself.

Good luck, you don't wanna be smoking 4 grams a day for the rest of your life, bro.
