Wait! Don't ever do that. You could do mortal damage to the plant. Place one hand over the soil so that the stalk is between your index and fore finger. Your hand is covering as much of the soil as possible. Now turn the pot over and gently slide the pot up. Inspect the roots and return it up right. Replace any top soil lost.

My plants in MG multi-purpose compost with perlite and its starting have some problems, it started about 2 weeks ago when one branch suddenly went very droopy and leaf margins slightly curled in, now they are kinda a rubbery/crispy feeling and its moving up the plant to all new growth apart from the very top where the leafs have now gone slighty yellowish compared to the rest of the plant.
