FIrst ever post and I have lots of questions about my plants (pics included)
Hey everybody, this is kind of a big moment for me, this is my first ever post on a marijuana forum. Oddly enough my first post is about the very first two plants I've ever attempted to grow and I've got more
than a few questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
The first of my lovely ladies is the afgooey (the larger of the two) and the
second is Pink Lady.
So here's the deal, I grew these outside on my deck over the summer, I started with 5 seeds of each and wound up with 1 female of each. They are 100% natural, completely 100% organic and no chemicals on the plant or in the soil (and no artificial fertilizers), only good natural compost loaded
with worm casings (I've got a good sized worm colony in my compost bin.
I even dealt with the bugs by natural means. But I live in the seattle area of washington, and if there are any locals out there, you know the weather has been getting colder and wetter. I've brought
them inside and they are currently perched by a window (in a way they can't be seen), and I've got them surrounded on three sides with a 1 ft. barrier of cardboard covered with that silver metallic reflective tape.
This isn't cutting it though. I have 3 kinds of lights available to me, I know I need a better light source, but this is all I have right now, and unfortunately I can't get a better light till next month. These are the options though, a simple energy saver bulb, The big one with the silver on it, live in an apartment and snagged it out of the socket in the bathroom ceiling, and this other one I kinda just found above the kitchen cupboards when I moved in.
So after all that here's my questions...
Can anyone tell me how far along my plants are in their life cycle?
What can I do to get more bud out of them without the use of artificial extras,
something natural?
My plants started getting dry leaves the last couple days, but I'm watering in
them correctly... any clue?
Are any of these lights good enough to keep my plants going for another month?
Also, I was comparing different light options and I was really considering
going LED, to avoid large power bills cause I'm just planning on only doing
2 or 3 plants at a time. I looked around on a bunch of sites and the general
consensus is that if I were to go with an LED light set up, I need one thatā??s
at least 45 watts though, otherwise it's kinda worthless by itself. I was
seriously considering on getting the 50 watt Advanced Spectrum quad-band
LED grow light panel. If that oneā??s not good enough for what I want to do,
someone please tell me so I don't end up wasting money. Also, if it's
not, I still want to go LED either way though, so if someone has experience
with LED growing Iā??d love any help that you'd be willing to throw my way.
Oh yeah, as you can see, they're starting to get sad looking, any ideas
why? The only thing I can think of is lack of good light,
Also, any grow tips for living in washington? Any good strains that would
work well in washington or any suggestions on a good beginner plant with a
pretty decent yield? Any tips, advice, would be great.
Thanks everybody

Hey
The dont seem to be doing very well in my honest opinion.
I think you need to start again as those plants may be beyond the point of saving. I would guess that they are finished their cycle by now too.
Maybe you might get a joint or 2 out of them but that is not how a plant should look at the end of the summer !
I have a grow journal on here using led. You can find it here too LED Logger
The grow is just starting to bloom now. I give you all the advice I can but the only thing I wont advise on is the nutrients I decided to use.
So far the LED light has been amazing. The plants are just starting to bloom now. Exciting times ahead
You said you had those plants outside all summer ? What size is that pot ? They look tiny. You would need at least a 5 gallon pot for each plant outside if you planted in April.
I use 3 gallon pots indoors. That might be a big issue with the under development of the plants. Small pots = root bound plants = very small yield..
Genetics might also be a factor but I think there is more than that going on here. Did you do a lot of research before growing the plants?
Where did you get the seeds ? Be sure to get them from a reputable source.
50watts of LED might not be enough for 3 plants. I am using 190w of LED and 80w of CFL. I think if you decide to grow anything you will need at least 200w of light to get a decent enough yield.
Have a look at my grow log and see what I did and what my plants look like in comparison to yours. You will see what I mean.
But I am quite new to this growing too. I dont want to sound like a know it all because there are very pro growers on this site who know a mountain more than I do.
Keep up the good work but try to check out other grows and follow their lead. A few people like painretreat, or irish boy are well know on these sits and might be a lot of help to you.
There are lots of factors that can influence your total yield. It is important to think of every variable before growing. If one variable is weak the rest break down and the plant suffers.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link so to say.
Keep it up and read what you can so the next grow will be 100 times better.
Take care,
