    you put a seed into a cup of water and it sank? why would it grow in a cup of water and why would in not sink?

    Skunk, a seed that is dropped into water and sinks, indicates a break in the outter shell of the seed, which may mean air has gotten to the flesh of the seedling.

    Odds are against it being a viable seed.

    Not 100% but certainly you may want to rely on other seeds to germinate.

    Agreed, alot of factors can come into play when soaking the seed for germination. Just because it sinks, it doesn't mean it won't germinate. Cracked seeds can float also can't they? I'm only shooting 50% germination so far... not bad considering.

    I guess what my point is, unless the seed is cracked in half, crushed or burnt...There's a possibility it'll germinate. plant it, find out.


    Or try a different method.
