Clone issues - New leaves but no branches stretching out

I took a clone off of my plant a couple weeks into flowering and have been trying to grow it now for over a month I would say. It shed its old fan leaves and sprouted lots of new smaller leaves right off of the main stem, but has not stretched out any new fan leaves or new branches. I pulled on the stem a little and it feels like it never grew any roots, so it surprises me that it can even still be alive and growing. I did have it under 24 hours of light for most of the clones life so far, I only recently discovered that I should have been giving it 4-6 hours of darkness each day.

I have two questions about this...

    1. If there is no root growth by now then there probably wont be unless... Could I possibly pull the clone back out of the soil, make a new cut at the bottom of the stem, apply more root growth solution, and replant it? I'm not sure if that could possibly work or if I should just leave it and hope for the best even tho its been so long already?

    2. My large plant is now completely ready for harvest, is it possible for me to take a clone from that now and get it to go back into veg state? I know everyone says you shouldn't take clones this late but I am hoping to somehow save this plants genetics since I don't know what it is, didn't get any seeds, and it turned out really nice.

If you could help me on this topic I would very much appreciate it. Thanks ya'll

I think your only option is going to be to try to re-veg.... Harvest all but some of the lower buds and then place the plant back in a 18/6 light period.... If it does re-veg, you'll see it within time growing new leaves and branches....

Danggg... Do you mean try to reveg the entire rest of the plant after I finish harvest? Or just try to take more clones and get those to go back into veg state? I suppose I could possibly try both...

What if I somehow found a shitty male somewhere and pollinated some of my flowers? Would it be too late for them to grow seeds if they're already at 50% amber trichs almost all the way through? That would be a great option, only problem is then the seeds would be hybrids and not my original strain =(

Ultimately you are going to do what you think is best or what you think might work.... Re-veg has been the only proven method to keep a plant alive after flowering has been induced....

    Good luck....

Revegging can be a saving Grace! I've been revegging the same plant for over 5 years.CGI was spot on! The hormones change triggering it to flower. It takes some time to change when the light cycle has changed. Here are a couple of pics that will have you revegging the next grow.

You would have a better end result when cloning,by air-layering your revegged plants.

wow thats awesome, problem is... I took probably close to half of the branches off my plant already, not just the buds... is that going to be an issue or is it possible to just take the buds off the remaining half and then reveg that side and hope for the best? Also then when picking the buds off how exactly do you do that? where do you cut and what do you leave on the plant? Also is it necessary to remove the buds in order for it to go back into veg state?

I am verrry interested in this subject and time is running out for me and my girl I think... if you or anyone can answer my questions, and perhaps even throw some additional information at me I would greatly appreciate it. I will take pics of how I do the process once I know how and keep you updated on my flower's progress... ya'll can help me cheer her on haha.

    Thanks ya'll!

When it comes to revegging, you should leave most of the smaller lower buds on the stems and cut the stalks above the growth you intend to keep vegging. You have got to have some buds on there in order for it to veg back. 18/6 light schedule. Using 24 hours does nothing more for production. You should trim the rootball after harvest and transplant. Hope this helped!

^^Very good advice there.... It's imperative that you leave buds with leaves....because branches don't have photosystems on them.... And like mentioned, go for 18/6 and not 24/0.... I know I'm just repeating what's already been said but I just want to add emphasis on these key steps....

So when you say leave the lower buds and cut the stalks off above that growth... do you mean you keep the bottom few branches of the plant and cut the whole top off the rest? Shortening your plant significantly. Or do you leave the higher branches with leaves but take out the buds on those?

I just wanna be very clear on how I am supposed to cut this thing so I don't do anything bad.

The first of your post, would be the way to achieve this. Not the second sentence. Now your getting the jest of it!
