4 weeks into grow. Are these plants to bushy?

Hey guys! I am on my first grow, and enjoyig every part about it!

My questions: Do my plants look about right for 4 weeks and are they to bushy?

My setup: I have been using 8 100w equiv. CFL's in 5000k and 4 days ago, put in a 1000w HPS vented with hortilux bulb. I kept both the CFL's and HPS on them and slowly put the HPS closer and took the CFL's farther, and today recomed the CFL's completely. Ive noticed slightly more stem development over the past two days. They stand at average height of 7 inches high and 8 inches across

Avg. temp/humidity: 85/30 during the peak (18on/6off) and 66/45 when lights are off.
    Soil: Fox Farms Ocean
    Strain: White Widow/AK47
Nutrients: Canna Vega (4ml to 2 liters and theyve been watered daily at 3 pm) They dry out completely in the 24 hours, or so my moisture meter says

They look healthy although I had a run in with Rust fungus (I ended up cutting the tips off the leafs infected and havent seen it again for 2 weeks)

Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Also, when will I be able to take clones. It seems the stems are to short

    Welcome Musiclvr!
Yes, your plant's look very good for 4 weeks. Not too bushy; remember, they will stretch during the first weeks of flower.

-The 'rust fungus' on the leaf tips? That's actually a sign that you're over feeding. Which makes sense since you said you were feeding everyday.
I would only feed every other watering.

-If they are drying out everyday, they need to be transplanted before flower, less you wanna water 3 times a day.
Lift the pot before you think it needs to be watered. Then lift again after watering.
*The latter should be significantly heavier.
**Only water enough till you see a little runoff.

4 weeks into grow. Are these plants to bushy?

    Hey,

I must say that I am not a very experienced grower but here is my 2 pence on this. I hope it works for you.

The height of the light, intensity, determines the node lengths. In some cases it can be genetics, i.e. Indicia strains. I am growing an unusually bushy plant out of 9.

It must be some old school Indicia strain ! It looks awesome and half the height of the other plants no matter what I do.

You can check my grow here. Ill take more detailed photos of the bushy plant. I had it on the edge and it didn't stretch much at all. Strange one. Super stumpy and bushy.

I moved it into the middle of 9 plants as it will stay short giving more light coverage to the surrounding plants.

You can see my LED grow here. The plants look awesome, just amazing growth. LED LOGGER

The nodes are the spaces between the 2 leaves. They grow 2 x 2 x 2 leaves etc.. until bloom where its 1 x 1 x 1 leaves. (colas)

You can make the plant less bushy by raising the light therefore making the plant stretch towards the light. The lower the light, higher intensity, the stumpier it becomes.

Try to get 1.5 inches between the nodes. No less than an inch. This will give space for new shoots from the stem.

Also when bloom comes watch the colas length. you will want the same on each, about 1 - 1.5 inches between leaf points.

    I hope this helps.

    Take care
