Seed preparation for germination question

This is not something I read somewhere.
I tried planting 5 seeds fresh from the pod.
Kept them moist for 2 weeks, nada!
Figured they must have rotted and quit watering them.
The soil got bone dry in a week.
Decided to pop some commercial seeds so I watered the dry cups to prep. them, and then the phone rang.
Don't take much to sidetrack me so I forgot about the cups for 3 days.:stoned:
When I "came back around on the guitar" I found 5 happy seedlings, "in 5 part harmony".
I concluded that letting them get dry, then re-wetting is what woke them up.
So, let it dry.
Aloha,
Weezard
