WTF??? Flowering under 16 hours of MH??
Attached are 2 images take of a plant less than 12 inches tall, "vegetating" under 16 hours of Metal Halide - FLOWERING!!!
:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:
Well, at least it's female....
Anybody got any ideas as to "What's the deal" that I can't seem to keep it in a vegetative mode? Any suggestions as to how to send it BACK to vegetating? I'm not ready to move it to the flowering room yet! There's no room in there!

WTF??? Flowering under 16 hours of MH??
GIG,
Mine are showing pistils at 18/6. Did you sex them? Are they auto's? Take into consideration the strain, too.Move your timer to 18/6. Don't think they are flowering as much as showing their sex. Maybe that's a good thang, huh?

WTF??? Flowering under 16 hours of MH??
The strain is just bag seed, so I have no idea if it's an auto flowering strain or not. My flowering room is a mis-mash of bud clusters on one plant and a bottle brushes on every main stem of the other. I top plants when they're in vegetation to create at least 4 main stems and reduce their height.
At this point I just refuse to spend money on special seed genetics. I want to get comfortable with the basics of growing before I go down that route as the seedbanks I've seen look pretty pricey and I do _NOT_ have a "green thumb". In fact, I have been known to kill rock gardens just by walking by.
My flowering plants are my first ever attempt at growing a crop to maturity and doing well. I ordered a microscope last Sunday and am waiting on it to come in to start looking at the trichomes. I "think" they're 2-3 weeks from harvest based on the rate of growth they've displayed so far.
Kinda be nice if this plant is something special though. I think what I'll do, IF I can can it back to vegetating, is keep it vegetating and use it as a mother to start learning about cloning since it's shown it's sex so early.
Knowing I can go all the way to 24/0 with the lights on the vegetation side, I just rolled it to 19/5.... (then came back to finish this post)
Is it possible to keep an auto flowering strain in vegetation mode through timing of the lights?
It'd be a real winner if I can do that and this particular bag seed turns out to be something special. I'm usually not that lucky.

WTF??? Flowering under 16 hours of MH??
Apparently I have an auto-flowering plant in my vegetating room... I rolled the lights up to 24/0 to try to stunt her back into vegetating mode, and the bitch is STILL trying to flower. She was a sweet little girl until she refused to stop flowering, then she became the bitch! I was HOPING to make a mother out of her and keep her vegetating.. but I guess THAT'S out the window!
Unfortunately, I don't have the space in my flowering boxes to move her over to it. I do have one plant in the flowering boxes that has progressed solidly to milky trichomes, but no amber yet... And I am pretty determined to stay the course until I see at least 50% amber. Yea, I "could" harvest her now, but I REALLY don't want to - - - not yet.
I'm looking for suggestions here.
My first thought is to roll the MH lights back in the vegetating room to 16/8 and let the bitch flower under that until space comes available in the flowering room @ 12/12 - then move her. But I dunno what that would do to the other plants that are vegetating as I just moved them to 24/0 a week or so ago.
My second thought would be to go ahead and harvest my maturest plant even though the trichomes aren't amber yet, freeing up some space. This is NOT a "good" choice in my opinion. This plant is still growing and developing 8 buds - each of which are about 10 inches long and as thick as my forearm. But they're still filling in and "need" a little more time to mature.
On average... once you see predominately milky tricomes, how long is it until the buds finish filling out an the trichomes turn amber?
I'm spraying the plants daily (and have been all along) with super bloom nutes that are now up to 2x the strength the label recommends - and they LOVE it! I can actually SEE growth daily. The trichomes went from clear to milky in about 10 days and the buds doubled in size.
For about $35 I COULD build another flowering box for the bitch, complete with a 6 pack of CFL's.But then I'll have to listen to my wife complain about not having the space she needs to easily get to the washer and dryer.
And, unfortunately, her complaint would be legitimate.
Whadda ya think? Another box and let her complain, or roll back the lights in the veggie room and hope for the best... moving this auto-flowering bitch when the other plant is harvested?
Whatever I decide to do, I need to get it done by this weekend, and I'd really appreciate some input on this. Being it's my first grow, I REALLY want to see those huge buds finish filling out and let the trichomes become amber before I harvest it. Will playing with the timing on the lights in the vegetating room do any "damage"?
HELP!

I wouldn't trust the trichomes appearance either, the spray residue could be causing the cloudiness, especially if your foliar feeding at 2X the recommendation.

I don't want any used stuff with cleaning chemical residues in them.
When I start to see ANY feeding residue on the surface of the leaves, (and I have) I give them a good bath with just water to remove it. And I'm checking them with a microscope daily, so I do see it. I started foliar feeding at ΒΌ strength and worked my way up to 2x - just like I did with feeding them through the soil (which I still do at 2x every time I water them).
I can't remember who it was in another thread with a sticky on the subject, but she said, "Cannabis plants are hogs for nutes. Work your way up slowly and watch for any signs of burning and they'll love it".... Boy, was she was right!
Initially, I didn't see much of what I call "spontaneous growth".... But I am certainly seeing it now. I can stick a bowl of sugar, yeast and water in their box to create CO2 at the beginning of the light cycle and the difference when I go back cover them for the dark cycle is amazing! Giving the flowering boxes 5Lpm of 02 during the dark cycle seems to be helping as well. The 02 part could just be my imagination, but it can't hurt... so I presume it's helping. I really dunno, but I intend to keep on doing it.
I'm certainly taking your advice to heart on rinsing them well before they fill in and I'll stop foliar feeding, wash them well, and leach the soil as soon as I see significant amber on the trichomes. Then I'll give them a couple of weeks to "dry out" before I harvest them.
I think I'll go stick the timer back in line for the vegetating room and set it to run 20/4, right now. As this is my first grow, and just "bag seed," I don't have much of a clue on what to do with this auto flowering stuff.
Thanks for the input!
