What should I buy first? (What is most important priority for a good grow)

I have a little under $100 right now and I have some options...
I have a ghetto grow in the 1st week of veg right now, so keep in mind the fact there's the factor of being able to use what I buy for my next grow for this grow as-well.

At my local hydro shop:
I can either buy a tent for my grow, which I won't be able to use till I have the proper fans for ventilation and such, but will give me more of a controlled environment.

OR

I can buy the 125 watt CFL with the reflector, either the 6500 blue light or the 2700 red light (I know HPS would be much better, but I'm going to have trouble with heat in my current house)

OR

I can buy meters, probably limited to 1-4 meters depending on which ones... PH meter for 30-60 bucks, the digital hydrometer, PH UP & DOWN, etc...


I'm basically looking for advice on which would be best to invest my money into RIGHT NOW... I know I need them all, but I can't afford to get it all right now, but I will for sure be collecting all the above together within the next coming 2-3 months. Thanks a ton guys

oh, I forgot... unless I can find something - there's a possibility I won't be able to hang the CFL/Reflector combo with-out the tent...

Lol is personally would buy the tent first. Just because.you can always find something to make it work. It's like do you buy the.house, or the furnature first? Id worry about a house for my babies first, the rest will come together. You can use florescent lights and a house fan for now. That's what I did for.my first grow nd it turned out fine. My leaves were.a.bit sketchy looking cuz they got bugs three weeks before harvest. But the bud turned out good. Veged under florescent and then flowered under hps. But I guess you could just get the light first, then make a space for them wit some plastic and two by fours get your carpenter on! Lol if you build the.space you could insulate it better than a tent. Don't be intimidated by the BUILD either. My boyfriend, his dad, and I built my room. Got pics of that too if you want ideas. It was fun as hell to see it all come together! Either way good luck nd keep us posted, or let us know how it goes

Nice bud! I agree & like the house/furniture analogy... but I get the feeling it's not quite the same in this situation... but then again it's my first grow... my thinking is that if I get the tent, I'll feel better over all as you said... but if I get the light, I'll need it anyways & I'll get a larger yield this grow-around - or if I get meters I can finally measure the PH of my water & all that good stuff... but again - I'm not sure :/ Thanks

oh & i guess I could by a hydroponic system if I wanted... but I think I'd rather get a few soil grows under my belt before I switch over to hydro

Once agn. 6 two cents. I just started my first deep water culture experament after three soil grows. I'm very passionate about this dispite my slight lack of experience I.ask a lot of questions and read a lot too. dirt is way easier to deal with. I have most of my crop in dirt ( I'm experamenting) so there kinda scattered. And only one seedlings in my dwc bucket. Oh and seedlings are a little different than clones I'm discovering, when theyr growing. For my first grow also, I didn't use a ph tester or things like that. It was just the basics, dirt with micro nutes in it already, and two bottles of nutes. Do you know.why strain you got? Are they clones or seedlings? How long are you gonna let them veg? Sry for the twenty questions, like I said I'm passionate about this stuff!

haha, who can't be passionate about their herb? I don't blame ya! the current seedling growing right now is about an inch tall, I think it's growing so slowly because the PH isnt right... but it's just some bag-seed.. I plan to veg this on till it's around a foot... my next grow should be super lemon haze seeds, possible some others like L.A. Confidential & AK... I plan to do some type of SOG, so i'll prob veg them anywhere from 6 inches to a foot then switch to flowering


Oh & an update, I went out & bought the light/reflector today so I can use it for both grows & I'm about to sell my longboard in less than a half hour, but the hydro shop will be closed in 5 minutes, so I'll be buying the tent tomorrow... just leaves me misc stuff like meters - nutes - soil - fans, etc...
