Is my plant ready for harvest? Interesting trichome behavior...
I was just curious if anyone else notices what I have noticed about my first grow. For about a week and a half now I have been able to identify a few amber trichs here and there, but not too many, and there doesn't seem to be any changing to amber color either. It has just been staying the same for a while now. I also only have a 10x scope to use which works but could be better.
I am thinking its about time for me to harvest anyways being that I didn't want the trichs to change over to amber too much...
Any feedback on this would be great, curious if this is common or not.
I'll try to get some pictures but I don't have a real great camera for it. Shes a beauty for my first time though.Minnesnowta Reviewed by Minnesnowta on . Is my plant ready for harvest? How many weeks have your plants been flowering and do you know what strain you are growing?

I do not know the strain, its random bagseed from the one bean I found in some good buds I had. And it has been flowering for a long time, I would say since the middle of august. Its too bad it started out as something I wasnt paying all that much attention to, but then it turned out to grow real well so I started to really take care of it at that point. Its growing outdoors in southern minnesota. I wish now I would have paid attention to its timing the whole way through, as I intend to do from here on out.
Also there are certain areas with more matured trichomes than others, I was curious as to what people do when they harvest their plants in sections. And does harvesting parts of it before others cause stress on the plant and hurt the remaining branches at all as they mature and prepare for harvest?

Some say wait till trichs are 10% amber and the rest cloudy and from what u say your girl has been in flower for about 10 weeks depending on the strain which u don’t know so’s kind of hard to say when she could be ready. I have two stavia girls at the moment and they've just entered their 12th week of flowering and have no amber trichs yet. Myself I just go by the hairs, once they are 80& brown/orange I pull her. Waiting for the amber trichs and all that is said to get u the best stone from your grass, guess it boils down to whatever floats Ur boat. No matter what am sure it will be a nice little smoke and just think with a little more attention it could have been even better, enjoy the smoke

Thanks, it ended up being a real nice smoke actually. I just posted another thread in Basic Growing called something like... My first grow... How do you think it looks? or something like that. Either way I posted 5 or so pics of my flower there you could check out. I'm really happy with it.
