In my opinion, we have to follow the rules of the program or face the consequences. I am compassionate to all the patients and I think that if she had followed the rules of the program, even without her card, they may have been lenient and just removed the plants and herb. But, come on....80 plants for personal pain management? And she already had 16 gallon-sized bags and jars filled with dried herb. Excessive?

Wow, I must really be tired...reread the article and she/they had 150 POUNDS of dried herb. OMG

But they no longer need to make the trip unless the medicine from the Ruidoso producer isn't quality medicine.

I understand that provided the purchase is less than an ounce, the Las Cruces producer is packaging to help avoid detection at the checkpoints, but cannot guarantee anything. The risk still falls to the patient.

I fail to see how obtaining a card would have helped this woman.

    Scared

It really wouldn't have, but I am reading this that her "defense" is that she had all of this marijuana (certainly not medical grade cannabis) for her chronic pain and she couldn't "afford" to get her card. What a load of bull! These are the people who are harming the program. IMHO

People like her are definitely part of the problem, not the solution.
Producers who don't take care of their business are not helping the Program either.....

Are you referring to the Ruidoso producer? Didn't they have a fire and their first harvest is just now available. How could that be a lack of taking care of business?
