    Indoor grow box idea

[attachment=o279190]So Im thinking about growing my first plant/plants ever in my closet. I was planning on starting with some AF's so I can get a swing of things before I step it up.

For my First grow box I got an idea and was wandering how it would work.

I was thinking of buying those white, glossed metal sheets from lowes that can be screwed or bolted together to make a box shape. I was thinking I could make one wall out of the white glossed metal sheets but with some holes in it with a fan outside to push air in, then have a hole on the opposite side for ventilation with a filter and the works. Then id make the box to the measurements of the cover of the light I would use to where I could just sit the light on top, like a light ceiling if you get what Im saying. And as the plant grew i could add on more sheets vertically to make the box taller. Essentially making the grow box height go with the plant. Does anybody think this would work? Because Im only growing for personal and my closet would just be too big for a few plants. The door to the closet backs up to my door that goes out back, so i would probably open the doors for a little bit each night during the dark hours to get them some good fresh air.

Please give me some suggestions of what you would do.

Oh and I would probably sit it on top of an aluminum cookie sheet to catch the water running from the pot and add some reflectiveness to make up for the holes in the sides.

Essentially this would be like a slightly bigger version of a computer box grown

well if you are gonna go with autoflowers you will need a box that is somewhere from 40 -50 inches high.Depending on the breed or genetics of plant example sweet seeds s.a.d.(sweet afghan delicious) can get up to 3 feet tall. meanwhile other auto such as royal queen's auto dwarf range 18-24 inches at harvest.Another example if you have a area that is 4 feet wide ,3 feet deep and 50 inches high.there is no reason you could not do 6 autoflower plants in that area. been there and done it.I would also just make the box to it's final size from the get go.You could always make it higher if you would go with a photoperiod type plant later down the road.If you are gonna start with auto's then i would determine how many plant which genetic and then build box around them. If you need advice on genetics feel free to ask. I am the self proclaimed auto guru. I have experience with many different types ,and can help you make your choice to fit your needs.

Thanks for the help man. I know a lot of people are hopping on the autoAK train but I want to try something different. Im currently living in an apartment so I may have to go with a little ass PC stealth box That being known, what autoflower would you suggest? I was looking into some little red ryder hood, or possibly Royal Blue by royal queen seeds. With autoflower's do you think it would be better for me to go SOG and try to squeeze in 8-10 and just hope for the best? Or just grow 2-3 at a time and try to get all I can out of them?

If you can give me an idea of the exact amount of space i would give you my advise on a breed of plant and the amount of light you will need.Alot of the companies are no going with the bigger autoflowers for more yeild. But alot of the original auto's can still be purchased. For a small plant with a good bang for you buck. I would suggest world of seed afghan ryder. smell is not to bad yet high is just what they say devastating. When we had some i lost my footing a time or two. Most of there auto are on the shorter side. expect 15-35 grams per plant in 56 day from seed. The dinafem roadrunner was another that was short and stocky with limited smell. It's smoke was a good avaerage smoke, just not killer.of course the orignal lowryders are always a good choice or the lowryder 2 they are short and produce around a ounce if cared for properly. Most any plant from the joint doctor would be another good choice. If you do have the room i again would sugest some of the new larger auto.Like royal queen ak auto or anything in the critical auto strain will yield larger numbers for you.Sweet seeds also have some great yielding auto's for a good price.

I have done the thunder bloody mary from samsara as well as the shot adrenaline.Which i would say was the better.great up high active and motivated ,But the taiste was out of this world. The bloody mary was also good and it finished 1 week sooner. Both strains finished under 20 inches and provided a thick juicy main cola with plenty of medium bud's on the lower part of plant Out of ten of each i would say to expect anywhere from 3/4 -1 1/4 ounce's per plant under good light and tender lovin care.It seems the supersonic is a short (8-9) weeks from seed. So i would think they will average 16-20 inches high at harvest .cant guess yeild but i would think if they say 45 grams a plant expect 20-30 . There yields are if done in perfect conditions. We might have to try them.It would not be a bad choice for a beginner with limited space.Just pick somthing you think will fit your needs. That how i learned.

also if you are trying to stay on the economical side. i would suggest sweet seeds auto's,royal queens auto's. They are all beginner friendly for the most part.
