in my experience there is no smell more overpowering than flowering cannabis plants. You need to create a negative pressure in the room so that more air is going out than going in, Therefore all of the air must be filtered through the carbon before it is expelled from the room. Carbon filters work wonders, if its not working its not set up right.

I Just bought a Can 66 Carbon Filter and a can-fan 6inch ho 440 cfm and I tried to test it with cigarette smoke and I could smell it through the other end of the vent hose i have leading out of my room.
