from NCIA:
As you probably know, U.S. Department of Justice officials recently stepped up their nonsensical war on medical cannabis providers. At a press conference held Friday in Sacramento, four U.S. Attorneys announced a renewed effort to shutter California medical cannabis facilities by threatening their landlords with asset forfeiture and federal prison.
NCIA immediately responded to this development and was featured in national news coverage, including the Wall Street Journal, ABC News and the Associated Press.
We are deploying an aggressive public relations campaign in Washington, DC and California, at ground zero in the most recent round of federal assaults. NCIA is also working with other allied organizations on a unified action that will be announced shortly.
This year our industry has suffered outrageous and unfair IRS audits, denial of access to financial services, and now threats of asset forfeiture and prison. Despite promises made during his 2008 campaign and later by the administration in 2009, President Obama's record on medical cannabis is shaping up to be worse than the records of Presidents Clinton and Bush.
We need to ensure that President Obama and his reelection campaign are inundated with calls and questions about this puzzling stance that runs counter to the will of the voters and the administration's previous promises.

This is neither a time to panic nor a reason to surrender our fight for freedom and equality as American business people. However, this development should galvanize our industry to work for the common purpose of changing federal law.CannaHub Reviewed by CannaHub on . White House Phone Number & Sample Script
Please call the White House today to express your opposition tofederal attacks on safe access to medical cannabis!
On October 7, four U.S. Attorneys announced their intent to begin shuttering safe access for patients across California by threatening landlords who rent or lease to medical cannabiscollectives with asset forfeiture and prison.
Please call President Obama right away to express your disappointment in his administration for not keeping its promise to respect state medical marijuana laws and the patients who rely on them.
White House phone number: (202) 456-1111
Feel free to use the sample script to guide your call:
Hello, my name is _______(your name)_______. I live in ___(city)____,__(state)__.
I'm calling because I am very upset that President Obama has done nothing while the DEA, ATF, IRS and U.S. Attorneys have taken steps to undermine state-legal medical marijuana programs.
President Obama previously said he'd respect state laws allowing medical marijuana access but now has not kept his word. The Administration's policy will not only harm patients who rely on medical marijuana but will also put thousands of Americans who work in this industry out of a job.
Please tell me what President Obama is going to do to keep his promise by calling off federal attacks on state medical marijuana programs.
Thank you for your time.
