No scent to buds?
I've had my buds hangin for 3 days now and they basically smell like dirt. I grew organic weed from a good bag of weed "headies". The buds look pretty good, fluffy with a good amt of crystals and hairs. I took a hit from one little nugget i dried and got baked so it seems good but doesn't smell?
Can someone fill me in on this? Much appreciatedGPstativa Reviewed by GPstativa on . No scent to buds? I've had my buds hangin for 3 days now and they basically smell like dirt. Let them finish curing, they should develop some kind of aroma.

Yep. 3-4 weeks in a jar should bring out that stank.

When you clip the plants a lot of metobolic reactions change, considering I could smell my plants in my front yard once I clipped and hung them you would of thought the entire house would have stunk up but that didn't happen. I believe the strong aroma they produce while growing is a defense mechanism, once you kill the plant it can't produce this any longer and the components begin to break down and change their chemical composition. I believe the aroma is concentrated around the center of the bud so while you cure it it can get stronger.

i'm no botonist but what i've noticed is that after u cut them the plants start to use or expel the chlorohyl and thats why they get the dirt and green smell. like everyone has said, a few weeks in the jar and the smell will come back.

before cutting your plants did you do a wash (flush the plants) where i'm from that's how we call flushing. logical right! if your organic nutes are to smelly use a clearing solution like taste buds from hydrotek before harvest to flush them.

A misconception that most have who grow weed and thats the fact, that THC levels are not effected by the smell of it. The smell doesn't really have any effect on the weed at all, apart from getting you busted.
