Seems like a good political move by Obama.
It will help get some right-wingers on his side.
Meanwhile the liberals that this will mostly affect... well let's just say Obama knows he could kick their mothers in the face and still get their votes so he obviously has nothing to worry about.
I seem to recall him saying he wouldn't do stuff like this? I just hope people remember his true colors next November.

It was just a matter of time. The only way for states to get this law changed at the federal level is for enough of them to sue the Fed. government which no doubt would end up in the supreme court.

JUst more fodder for the occupy wall street crowd. Just means more people out on the street trying to defend there civil liberties. A little hard to get potheads motivated sometimes but we need to join our fellow brothers and sisters fighting the good fight right now because its really all the same thing. Its government tyranny and it has got to be stopped.
I would like to caution people though. Being one of those old hippies involved in the 60's and 70's protesting. There will eventually be a Kebt State moment in this movement. There have been lots of little ones in the MMJ movement but there will eventually be a Kent STate moment in the occupy wall street movement. If you don't know what Kent State was google it and you'll know all of it within 2 minutes. Do not let the nazis get away with it this time. And be very careful out there.

As you stated, be very careful out there. The federal govenment has no mercy when it feels it's being threatned and if you don't think martial law isn't an option you would be greatly mistaken and in fact I think it's a lot closer then people think.

The elites never like to have there authority questioned. Its really no difference than trying to argue with a cop. They will not argue with you, they will stomp you. Watch your backs and watch out for agent provocateurs.

hello. that would be exactly my point to bring an end to the wrongful cannabis classification. i am not an attorney. their issue reads alike the dispensaries are supposed to be operating as nonprofits, while within your state they are legal to operate for profit. when private enterprise is shut down by the Federal government, and the effected enterprises band together in a class action suit against the government, for total projected lost revenue damages- it may wind up in court for a decade- but eventually will end in favor of free enterprise. politically, a losing battle becomes vote enhancement, when a politician saves the tax payer time and money, and changes the classification overnight. first, there must be the legal challenge. i am waiting. you know, i was trying to reply to Purple Daddy, and that function did not work properly.

Any variety of things can be said about what has been brewing out of Wash DC, but at this point, a perception of desperation becoming evermore apparent.
In the streets there is a "let them eat cake" moment coming up on the horizon.
This entire scenario is like a bug looking for a windshield.
I can see it now, as the strategy evolves from deep within the bowels of the Wash DC politburo apparatcheks
Never mind the over $750 billion given to the "too big to fail" Wall Street banking cartel crime cabal, with no oversight of any kind . . . and to this very day all the banks are giving back to the citizenry is the splintery broomstick proctology exam treatment.
Never mind the trillions . . . yes, trillions of dollars that simply can't be accounted for, sort of "missing" from the books as it were.
Oh, but wait, don't touch that dial.
Fear not, for we can solve the most dangerous, evil threat to face the nation today!
Shut down those sinister dens of subversion - those evil cannabis collectives!
Round up the usual suspects!!!
Um . . . seems there's something a bit wrong with this picture, don't you think . . . just maybe?
