Hey JW420, you may also try AZ or New Mexico! Both states have areas similar to what you desire. I have traveled both states a lot. There are areas near foothills with water and mild climates! Pretty much, this past few years-we've been getting snow in places we haven't in my lifetime! Look on Google and near Mountain ranges. North of AZ and N.M. you will get some snow and ice, south-very little if they do get it and rare! But, central CA gets it, as well. Sea Level-it snowed in Laguna Beach last winter! The weather is a toss up. If your only hobby is going to be growing, then use that as your guide. Frankly, I like fishing and Colorado is a friendly place to do it! I cannot tolerate the bitter cold anymore and am moving into the bitter heat soon, I think. I am looking in an area, but it has not been below 78 degrees yet this Fall.
