The resin we harvest with bubble bags is mostly in capitate glands.
Small, wax coated globules that do not dissolve in the ice water.
They are slightly heavier than water and will eventually settle on the bottom.
But, if you do it right, they remain intact.
Were they to dissolve, the screens would have nothing to screen out, yah?
What the water does is rinse away sugars, starches, salts, etc.
No harm, no foul, brah.
I'll take any opportunity to post useful information.
So, thanks for the opportunity.
Oh, and jus' to stay on-topic.
I check the trichs and stagger the harvest.
Best of both worlds.
You can get 3 different character meds from a single plant with prudent timing of a staggered harvest
Aloha,
WeezeWeezard Reviewed by Weezard on . Trich's vs Brown Hairs? Which is your preference? Curious what people's preference is here in determining when to harvest? Most of what I've read on this forum seems to suggest amber trich's are an indication the plant is ready for harvest. MMJ Growers Handbook suggests amber trich's are a bit over ripe? My brother bases his harvest on the brown hairs, said he's never looked at them under a scope or anything. His bud is always top shelf but they always buy expensive clones. I have two plants with at least 50% brown hairs, one Rating: 5
