    GARBAGE!!!

i just spent 4 months growing and caring for my batch only to get dry crumbly weed? i had to have done something wrong but Im not sure what is was. Harvested, hung em up in a dark well ventilated closet. first sign of the stems snapping i took em down. most all the buds crumbled in my hand when cutting em off the stems to jar. I dont get it. How do i avoid this with the next batch????

That's not much info to go on. Please explain the past 4 months. Lot's of details.

Sounds like the water uptake stopped?

How long did you actually leave them to dry?

That's what I suspect as well....left to dry for too long....

Waiting for the stems to completely snap is waaaaay too dry....

There could factors other then the curing but yeah, if you can snap the stems there isn't going to be any moisture left in the buds.

This just goes to show that the entire process from beginning to end can be a challenge.

There also could have been a mold in the buds, and they will turn to powder when dried.

    GARBAGE!!!

started as clones from some bag seed a friend grew. veg'd under flouros for about month and a half then went under 400 watt HPS for 70 days or so till most of the trichomes were cloudy. watered with ph corrected water and minimal nutes. they seemed to grow just fine. they were hanging to dry about 7 days the big cola stems didnt snap but were close. all the little stems were snapping. temp when growing was avg of 80 deg.

Seven days shouldn't cause them to dry out like that. What was the density of the buds while they were growing? Were they tight or loose before you picked them? Sounds like it could possibly be low light bud which tends to be loose.

they felt dense on the plant but were real airey after a few days. So youre saying that not enough light intensity causes loose buds?? i had loose buds my first batch also.. You think my bulb is fading. it was only about 12" from the tops. thanks for your input btw. i really appreciate it

I find the buds tend to get a little loose as they dry but tighten up as they cure. Low light can cause the buds to grow smaller and looser.
