My First Closet Grow (CFL / AutoFlowering Strains)...

    Thanks guys :-)

I re-arranged the grow room today and BOY what a difference. I now have the intake from underneath the floorboards, and the exhaust is a little different managed to get the room temp with nothing in it to ~60F, then with lights 70F, had an accident and broke the 300wat flowering light, so bought another should be here tomorrow. Once its in, I'll take new pictures, looks like i have so much more room and its that little bit cooler now :-) woooohooooo :-)

    Until tomorrow, peace out!

My First Closet Grow (CFL / AutoFlowering Strains)...

    Hey Guys,

So I started to notice the bottom most set of leaves turning pale green, which I assume means I need to start feeding them (the autoflowers that is).

    I have a bottle of BioBizz Bio-Bloom (NPK = 2.0, 6.0, 3.5).

I currently water the autoflowers 550ml water every 2 days. So if each Autoflower has 550ml of water every 2 days, how much in ml of bloom nutes should I use in each watering?

Can someone help me work out the right amount, the bottle says 2 - 5ml per 1litre per feeding. So for 550ml i assume 1 ml? and as I want to try it on quarter strength first week, I guess i need only 0.25ml per feed? So If I mixed a 2 litre bottle i would put in 1ml in, then take 550ml for each plant out of that 2ltr bottle then rinse and repeat and see how they perform?

I base everything on 2ltr as i have a watering bottle thats 2ltr and a little bottle that holds 550ml

ANyways, look forward to your responses!

    I'll take pics soon :-)

Your maths seems perfectly fine. However, I think you'd be better off watering until water drips out of the bottom of the pot rather than watering a given amount. Once your solution is complete you don't have to give the plant a specific amount. For example if you pour 10 litres of it into the pot it won't overfeed the plant as most of it will drip out of the pot anyway.

    Hey smoketoker,

hah you're the only one that thinks my maths is great ;-)

I generally do water them until it seeps out the bottom.. this tends to be around the 550ml mark, but you raise a good point that i didn't realise until now, I guess overwatering/feeding happens because of frequency rather than quantity - i've not thought about it that way before.

OK, I will stick to the nute solution that I mentioned. Will probably start feeding my babies next weekend then. Unless they drastically deteriorate till then.

They are looking better already - will get some pics up soon Can wait to see the real buds start forming, oh what an experience this is! Growing is just as much fun and excitement as smoking

Anyways enough ranting from me.. im pretty high right now on some OG Kush mmmmm

    Hey,

So just to let ya`all know. I've switched to 20/4 light schedule as I want the biggest buds I can get so the more light the better I figure.. had them on 18/6 for 3/4 weeks now. All auto's have showed signs of sex, and are now growing lots of white pistils

I will update with pictures soon.. want them to look impressive before i post next updates

    Peace ya`all!

    Hey Guys,

I took some pictures yesterday, here they are:

So a couple things to note. I started to see yellowing happen from the bottom most set of leaves upwards. From my research this tells me the plant is starting to use up its Nitrogen resources in the leaves, hence the yellowing. So I decided to start feeding my babies a little earlier than the 5 week plan, as they looked like they needed it (I hope it was this anyway). I put 1.25ml of BioBizz BioBloom into 2 litres of water, and fed the plants until water ran off from them. Today there doesn't seem to be anymore yellowing, but I will keep an eye on it this week. My watering is tending to be every 2 / 3 days, so I Watered them with nutes Sunday, when they dry out ill water again with nutes same measurements for this whole week. Then next week i'll up it to 2ml in 2litres of water, and so on so forth. Unless they respond badly to the nutes this is my plan.

Now a couple of questions... looking at the pictures in some of them you can see the yellowing on the leaves.. do you think I did the right thing? Is it a Nitrogen deficiency? ANy help / advice on this would be great? Should I go get a rich source of N in a fert or should I Stick to the biobizz biobloom which is NPK 2.0 6.0 3.0 ?

This is the part i struggle with when growing and usually end up messing up my plants so really need my hand held so to speak here.. i don't want to loose these beautiful looking ladies.

Another problem you may pick up on in the pictures is every morning when i check the room the damn plants grow so fast a couple of them touch the CFL and burnt the tips of the leaves. So now every night before the lights go out, i raise the lights a good few inches so that they don't touch in morning then lower again, just to protect them a little. IO think i have this bit under control now.

SO anything else you can see in the pictures? ANy advice/opinions?

Look forward to hearing from you guys!

    Hey guys,

So I took one of the smaller ladies out of the room today to have a look at more closely. I noticed that the roots were poking through the holes in the bottom - so I have just got back from town with some 8 litre pots, they were in 3 litre pots so just transplanting now. Really didn't expect to need to transplant them thought 3litre pots for autos would be fine.. how wrong was I!

Let you all know how it goes with pictures later.

    Wish me luck!

I hope this doesn't stunt their growth too much gonna be very gentle, but its an awkward process to transplant them now!

I have decided to use the tucking of fan leaves method rather than pruning as I don't like to cut the plant, I prefer to bend and tuck the fan leaves out of the way to expose light to the bud sites.

    ANy comemnts, opinions welcome

Look forward to hearing from you guys.
