My First Closet Grow (CFL / AutoFlowering Strains)...
For your next grow, have you considered having your lights on during the night instead of the day? My flower room lights run from 8pm to 8am.

The idea behind the grow log is for me to keep a diary and can reference at a later date with other grows, to collate information as I learn during the grow, to share my experiences and to get opinions, advice from other growers and just give back to the community what it has given so much to me. The grow setup is a tent in a closet, the size of the tent is 60cm x 60cm x 140cm. I have one Rating: 5http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/...og-w-pics.html - 1st grow, in coco with CFL\'s (Finished)

@PhatJay, No I've not thought about this as I don't see what difference it would make when the dark period happens? The reason I choose the dark period from 11pm - 5am is because its too hot in the tent then, so will help keep temps under control. Also they're autoflowers so I won't be using anything but 18/6. Have you noticed differences in the outcome of the grow by having your dark/light periods at different times?

The reason I mentioned it, is because it is generally colder at night than during the day, this is why I have my lights on during the night, it makes my temps easier to manage.

Been forever since I've been to these forums and you have a nice little set started. Your 18/6 method for autoflowering is perfectly ok throughout the WHOLE vegging and flowering process. Because they are autoflowers you will be fine with one time setting as they mature all the way through. Big thing to remember though, is when you do put them in DARK remember to keep your grow area completely dark during the "night" hours during flowering. Any light penetration can essentially hermie your plants and you will have seeds mixed in there. To me a big no no. Given I know you are a ways away from the flowering stage, but being they ARE autoflowers I would keep the night periods COMPLETELY dark even in veg just to reduce ANY stress that can happen during growth. Also if you start having problems with stretching in the near future you may consider doing a little bit of LST to keep it bushy. Then once it starts flowering release them and let the "bud porn" begin! Happy growing. I'll be stopping in time and again to see how things are coming along! GOOD LUCK!

My First Closet Grow (CFL / AutoFlowering Strains)...
Hey Italiano715,
First of all, welcome back, secondly, thank you :-)
Yeah, I intend to stick to the 18.6 throughout the auto flower life cycle. I'll be vegging some normal Indica strains half way through too, and then when all autoflowers are out, the indicas can goto 12/12 :-)
My grow tent is inside a cupboard and when the dark cycle is on, the cupboard door is closed, no light leaks at all. So no problems there :-)
Also I don't think stretching will be an issue due to the lights I am using, I can keep them as close to the plants as I want :-)
I will be experimenting with topping and LST'ing the indicas when they're vegging. Not the autoflowers, I don't expect these to get very big.
Look forward to hearing from you man!

My First Closet Grow (CFL / AutoFlowering Strains)...
Hey guys,
Been a while since I updated, mainly because I had to get a new camera.. so here I am with a nice update:

Enjoy!
The four seedlings in the middle are normal cannabis strains (ortega indica, and alquimista all four are feminized seeds), I plan to veg them for as long as the autoflowers are growing, then when the autoflowers are harvested, i'll switch them room to 12/12 for those four to bud :-)
Anyways, let me know you're thoughts etc.. it's late at the moment, so I will take better pictures of the plants tomorrow as they're bushing out like i've never seen before... and i need to get close up to show ya all!
Anyways, let me all know what ya think!
