    Is this right?

Hi, I have lots of buds forming on some Wild Thailand and am a little concerned. I have heard lots of talk of odor, and my minimally successful greenhouse grow had some odor, but these have nearly no odor. There is a very week hint of a bud odor just starting. These plants are getting heavy with bud to the point that the branches are bending under the weight, I can see with my magnifier the there are lots of drops of resin forming, but no strong odor even close to the buds.
Is something wrong? I know it is early because all the hairs are still white and the resin drops are clear, but I though I should be smelling something. These plants have the genetics to produce pot with a THC content between 21% and 24% and I would hate to screw it up because of something I stupidly forgot to do.

Well having grown Thai, I did note minimal smell until ripe. I doubt seriously unless there is a lot of genetic changes that there is no way it will hit even 20%. Most of those claims are garbage. Go for reputable breeders that win Cup awards. When they claim an amount it usually is pretty close because of the competition where it was actually measured.

Yea, I thought those numbers were high, but they came from multiple strain guides. I know a company that tests THC and CBD and will be testing after harvest. I will let you know the results. Thanks for the info. How smelly dose Thai get when ripe? If it's not bad I will not have to deoderize my exaust air, which I expected to be doing already.

Not sure I can give a good answer on that as I have several different breeds always in flower.

All you have to do is observed if there is an odor. If you can't take the odor then disposed it.

You can usually get a good idea of what a plant is going to smell like, by rubbing the internode.

Put an internode (closest to the tops as you can) between your pointing finger and your thumb. Apply firm but light pressure as you transverse up the stem, till you get to the next internode. (don't squeeze too tight or you'll risk damage) This will rub some of the terpenes (oils) onto your fingers. This way you do not crush, fold, spindle the buds, but you'll be able to see exactly what it's going to smell like before curing.
