Signage?
So, I'm in North San Diego county and flowering my meds outdoors (two pre-98s and one Lav). We have shown these plants to nobody -- including our new 420 friendly neighbors. Because of how our back yard is set up, you would have to be driving down our side street at less than 3 mph and actively looking for what you hoped to see, to even know about these plants. Even pedestrians would have to know where to look, and be able to penetrate the layers of vinca, succulents, orchids and Thai basil (yes, I like to garden) to be able to see anything.
All the same, I'm a medical patient growing well below what I need for personal medication and the limits set forth in prop 215 and HS 420...which, doesn't protect me from arrest.
My question is, would having some sort of sign or labeling at my grow site offer some sort of protection (or dissuasion) from any possible legal encounters? I was thinking of something along the lines of the following:
Congratulations!
You just found my sekrit prop 215 and HSB 420 compliant grow
which is non-transferable and intended for medical use
by the grower.
You are the 3rd visitor to this site.
Thanks,
The MGT.
Would this course of action provide me any extra freedom from possible hassle?
My lonely 3 plants would be of no interest to the feds, and everything I'm doing jives with state law...but I'd still like to make sure all my bases are covered.
Thanks for any input or experience anyone has with this.3rick Reviewed by 3rick on . Signage? So, I'm in North San Diego county and flowering my meds outdoors (two pre-98s and one Lav). You might want to think about that a bit more.
Laminate a copy of your rec., and keep it handy in case of legal encounters.
If it's clear that you know your "rights" and you no piss them off, leo can play nice.
Your real worry here is rippers.
Kids will just steal your meds. (and usually way too early to be any good, too).
Tweakers have no judgement and will take your life over a few hundred dollars worth of buds.
To you it's meds.
To a "sick" junkie, it's drug money.
Suggest you beef up your stealth any way possible and/or get a large dog.
Good luck, and Aloha,
Weezard

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have two original copies of my recommendation and will check into getting one laminated. I've also instructed my wife (the only other person who knows about these plants) on where they are and exactly what to tell any law enforcement officers who have any questions, should anything happen while I'm at work.
I've also secured the perimeter, plugged up some holes and upped the camouflage with other flowering and fruit bearing plants. If you did manage to get into my grow space, you'd have to do some pretty good poking around before you noticed anything.

The Dr. told me the recommendation was nothing more then a legal document to give to your attorney in the event you are arrested, it does not preclude LE from taking your plants and/or arresting you.
I have however been in a home where a small grow was happening in a bedroom and LE was called, my friend took them right to the room, showed her paperwork and the sheriff only told here "we just want to make sure you're not operating a large scale growing operation". Home reeked like freshly smoked pot, cop never asked me anything and left.
It sounds like you are doing all the right things though, keep it hidden and don't tell anyone. My biggest fear is rippers. Keeping a copy of your recommendation near your garden may prevent LE from pulling your plants if for some reason they came to your place while you were not home. I'm pretty sure they aren't worried about three plants but if someone were to call they could ask to search your place.

Put you recommendation an the wall of your grow. Feds are not interested in your 3 plants, don't worry. But, your other neighbors who are not 420 friendly might call the police and complain about it being a nuisance. You should also go to your county department of health and get the California medical marijuana card, that will protect you from any arrest.
