That's crazy because just the other day I wrote a similar paper. Mine was somewhat like that, but we could only use facts, not just opinions. So basically, I turned it into a thesis by calling it an "Enlightenment on Legalization." You should be fine. My english teacher finally asked me if I "smoked the ganja" and shes real cool about it. If you have a dick for a teacher and he tries to get you into trouble by saying that it was inappropriate for high school, which is doubtful anyway. All you have to do is say that he offered any topic that interested you and this is a burning issue everywhere. Props for having the balls to do it too. Not many high school guys would.

Man, am I ever glad I live in Canada. it just appauls me that American authorities (police/government/schools etc.) can prosucute people for having contradictory views to what the administration considered acceptable. I mean where the hell is democracy in that? Frankly I can't even comprehend how marijuana is illegal yet we sell tobacco, alchohol, and many far more potent prescription psychiatric drugs for people with anything from schizophrenics to kids labeled "ADD" for not meeting the societal norm.
