It is illegal in NM to purchase from anyone other than the LNPPs

Slow on thoughts today but can you help me out here and tell me what qualifies as medical grade?

As a licensed medical patient with only 3 years under my belt, Iâ??m sure I do not qualify as an expert. To answer your question I can only refer to my limited experience and personal preference. That being said, I think we all know the difference between medical cannabis and â??weed/potâ?� when we come across it. You know it the minute you smell it, break it up/grind it and the moment you try it. Most times you can tell just by looking at it. Some times itâ??s harder to tell, until you try it. It could be the tingle on the back of the roof of your mouth, or the constant need to cough when you take a hit half way through a joint. Maybe itâ??s the tingle on your lips, or worse yet the headache you get right after you smoke. We all know when we have bad weed.

Medical grade is more then just the product. Medical grade is being able to purchase legal medication from a licensed professional without the threat of being ripped off or arrested. In New Mexico, medical cannabis is grown organically and is free of pathogens, mould, mildew, pesticides, or non-organic matter.

Medical cannabis is purchased from, or delivered by a licensed representative who has passed federal background checks and is HIPAA certified to handle patientâ??s confidential information.

Yes, Iâ??m sure there is good weed on the street. And at any given moment it may be cheaper then what LNPPâ??s can afford to sell it for. Or not. Two of the older producers have proven that with time and the support of patients, the price of medical cannabis will come down and be more affordable for many New Mexicans.

As a patient, I can understand if someone is hurting and all they can afford is weed. No decent person could find another at fault for doing what they need to do to, just to get by. The law however, doesnâ??t care how bad someone is hurting. In their eyes, the law is the law. IMHO this is precisely where the rubber meets the road in the difference between pot and medical cannabis. For me personally it is worth the hassle and at times added expense, to work strictly within the NM medical cannabis system. My health and my liberty are not worth risking
