First time grow, Most likely going to need some help.

Whats up everybody, my names Louie. So as the title reads, this is my first grow. I just planted 6 germinated seeds, not exactly sure what type of seeds they are besides being from good weed I smoked. The grow is in my closet, just a little 4??x5?? closet with only 3?? of headroom. My current light set up consists of two 4?? ??daylight? fluorescent tubes rated at 2200 lumens and 5000k each, two 4?? ??soft white? fluorescent tubes rated at 3300 lumens and 3000k each, three 100 watt ??daylight? CFL??s putting out 1500 lumens, and one 100 watt ??soft white? CFL. I have not finished the room but ill put a picture up at the bottom, I plan on putting mylar on the walls. I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil, and have Fox Farms Soil Formulas- Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom. That just about does it, hopefully some of you more experienced cats will follow and help me out along the way. Please feel free to make suggestions, I??d appreciate the advice.

I'd set up the lights better on your plants. with lower wattage lights you want the lights to hit the plants directly. Also make sure you poked drainage holes in your cups otherwise your seedlings are going to drown. I'd use either the shop lights or the cfls, not both

Ok so I turned the CFL's off, I lowered the lights about 2 inches off the cups. How often do you water these seedlings, and how much? Also whats a good room temp to aim for? its sitting around 82 when its all closed up.

i think 82 is fine.. one of my friends used to keep his at 70 degrees.. something about spider mites not being able to survive? not entirely sure. and for the seedlings, have they sprouted yet ? keeping the soil damp/not soaked should be fine

I germinated the seeds before I put them in, but they have not popped up yet. They are only a day old so I cant expect much. Few questions: I was going to water them for the first week with just water before I start giving nutes, and my question is; should I test the ph of the water im giving them? and when i start putting in nutes will i test the water ph after I put the nutes in or just the water?

FFOF tends to run a little hot. You should be able to go awhile before you start adding nutes. Yes you should ph your water to around 6.5ish. I usually let mine fluctuate from 6.4-6.8. This allows better uptake of micronutes in your soil IMO. When its time for nutes you should add the nutes to you water then ph. The reason for this is alot of the nutes out there will raise or lower your ph. So its better to adjust accordingly afterwards.

Alright, so I started with 11 seeds, 8 of which germinated. As of today there were 6 little sprouts popping out of the soil! Ive lost hope for my last 3 seeds that never germinated, and im hoping the other 2 I planted pop out. Haven't really ran into any trouble, the room gets pretty warm at night when I close the door, up to about 85*F. Everything is looking nice. When would you recommend starting the FF Grow Big? Thanks again for the imput guys!

Sometimes seeds can take up to a week or more to pop so be patient. The soil you are using will keep those plants going for a while. I wouldnt rush into adding nutes until you get the basics down. When you start adding stuff too fast to your grow you will have many problems. Keep it simple. Keep to the basics. If you look at my avatar you will see a plant 3 weeks into flower. Using the same soil you are in with only water added the whole grow so far. No nutes. I have nothing against using nutes I just see alot of noobs over doing it. Good luck

OK so just a little update, all 8 of my seedlings have come through the soil, still 3 trying to germinate. I know its too early to be thinking about but, my grow room is only 3ft tall floor to ceiling. I need to keep these plants short and so my questions are A) how long do you suggest me veging? B) should I top them at the appropriate time to make my yields as high as possible?

Have you done any reading on scrog or lst? With limited height you might be better off doing either of these IMO. Just a suggestion.
