Based on the info you've given it still sounds like you cut too early. There are very few strains that will mature in that time with any real effect. I've done some tests on some of the new auto strains and if your looking at an 8 week period to smoke then you'll only really get that with a ruda cross
( Auto ). There are also some strains that are looking at about 60 days or so full cycle but without the ruda influence that cuts out the veg stage, the qualities are pretty poor. There are some good lists of fast flowering strains available on the web.
