my urine sample was almost the same color as Mountain Dew, is this normal?
As long as the sample doesnt exhibit any odd foreign color thats not supposed to be present in human urine (ie; blue, purple, black, magenta, etc) you have nothing to worry about.
Keep in mind that with specimen integrity checks having become the norm in recent years, specimen color became the least aspect in determining an over-diluted specimen. Even specimens with a nice yellow color to them can still fall below the acceptable limits for creatinine and specific gravity - the two urine constituents that are checked in determining an over-diluted specimen.
