A Few Questions
I recently took a urine test for a job I was offered. It was on Thursday, and the last time I had smoked was exactly two weeks before that. I haven't been smoking a lot this summer, maybe 1-2 times a month, if that. Thursday morning I followed the dilution directions as closely as I could (used Powerade for step 2, took four B-complex vitamins for example ) and I had meals featuring red meat 2-3 days before the test. My concerns:
1) my urine sample was almost the same color as Mountain Dew, is this normal?
2) I still haven't been contacted by my employer yet. How long is the process usually?
I have a back-up job, but this one would be so nice to have. Thank you for any help you guys can give me.busterbluth Reviewed by busterbluth on . A Few Questions
If you dont hear any word from your prospective employer by 8/10/11 , give them a call and ask for your "start date". The employers answer there will shed light on whether youre good to go, or if the employer had moved on to the next applicant for hire.
Never inquire about the test results. A drug-free person would never do this because, being drug-free, theres no reason to do so. Doing so will only make things look bad for you if you want to be viewed as a "drug-free" person.

Keep in mind that with specimen integrity checks having become the norm in recent years, specimen color became the least aspect in determining an over-diluted specimen. Even specimens with a nice yellow color to them can still fall below the acceptable limits for creatinine and specific gravity - the two urine constituents that are checked in determining an over-diluted specimen.

A Few Questions
Thanks for the response. Does it usually take a few days for the lab to get to the employer? I saw on the lab sheet as the nurse was filling it out that they were sending the sample somewhere via Fedex
