    motivation

    Ok, so its not that im lazy, but i just get into these moods sometimes, where even if the weather is beautiful, i'll stay inside, and even if i have the whole internet to peruse, and video games to play, and more importantly, school work to finish, i wont do any of it, i'll just listen to music. now mind you, this isnt every day, its only when im really stressed out, like at the end of a semester, or before i start a job (im gonna sell insurance over the summer--dont think im a prick, sometimes insurance is helpful). these slumps only last for a couple weeks, but they suck, and i know if i had some motivation i'd make more of an effort in the things i did...but then i think, whats the point, the effort im making now is good enough, im getting straight A's. But the point is: that shouldn't be the most important, and i dont want it to be, there's more to life than the grades you get in college. I wanna be motivated to go out and play tennis like i used to, shit like that.
    So, um, what motivates you guys to get out of bed? --just throw stuff out there, and maybe i can use some of it, or your ideas can help me think of some of my own. thanx.

    Hey Dark Seraph -

    Definately don't do coke. Such a loser drug. Other than that, I don't really have too many tips for you because it depends on the individual person as opposed to the masses. What I mean is, motivation comes differently to everybody.

    I'm not any kind of motivation-ologist or anything but here is what I do if I find myself getting lazy-

    1. Smoke pot a little less often
    2. Get into a regular exercise routine
    3. Find a buddy who will play sports with you (in your case, tennis)
    4. If you eat crap for munchies, cut that out. I always feel like shit after about a thousand Chee-tos, but if I eat a fruit salad after smoking I don't feel like such a slug.
    5. Here's the best tip of all - don't let it get the best of you! You have to create your own motivation - I don't know you well enough to know what would get you up off your ass, only you, family, and good friends know that much.

    6. Do as I say, not as I do. (I can be one lazy MFer sometimes, esp. in Winter)

    oh and yea man, weed makes u so less motivated. smokin hash is from my opinion way better. u dont get as vedge. and drinkin coffee while high too is fun.

    Do some kind of volunteer work if you have the time, volunteer at a hospital or soup kitchen or an animal shelter. Its very satisfying knowing you're helping out the community. I tutor underprivelaged kids at a local high school and its great being a mentor to kids who come from really rough backgrounds. I get out of bed knowing a lot of people count on me, and I wont let them down

    that's true mojavpa, when someone is depending me, i have much more enthusiasm leaving the house and take more initiative throughout the day. Maybe i could ry teaching one of my friends to play tennis with me.

    Oh, and i know that coke thing was a joke; I've read enough of mellow mood's posts to know when he's joking. But hey, mellow mood, you'd feel pretty guilty if i went out and bought massive quantities of coke in hopes of finding the solution you presented me with. I could have overdosed, all because you didnt write "(joke)" before and after your comment.

    and about cutting back on the weed, thats not a problem: i havent had weed in like a month and a half, so those of you who complain after not having pot for a week, just take a look at me and you might see yourself as fortunate.
