Grow Closet Help
Newbie here so here are the facts;
Just started a "Grow Closet" 8' x 4' x 1.5' & have 4 "white widows" x 1.5 weeks looking ok but need help with particulars! Soil is 2 parts peat/1 part hummus w/manure, 1 tbs "Plant-Tone", & perlite. Using 2 40w cfl's & 2 45w screw in cfl's producing 3000/5500K respectively & are left on 24/7. Walls are white, temp is 88F or 31C, RH 40% at best & this is with misting the area using a fine mist spray every 2 hours. All appears fine & the leaves look nice. Is there anything more that I can do to achieve better? Pics available upon request!Esteban1 Reviewed by Esteban1 on . I would try and keep temps under 85 and humidity around 50-60% for veg. If you place a bowl of water or two in your closet it should raise your humidity. I personally prefer 18/6 over 24 cause it gives the plant time to rest which leaves you with a healthier plant IMO. What are you using for air circulation? The reason i ask is cause im thinking you are gonna need more light throughout your grow. More light =more heat. You are already at 88 so im thinking some kind of ventilation is gonna be a must.
We all like pics:thumbsup:

You are a little short on the light and a little hot but it will work just not best. Without CO2 you want to keep the temp below 80F if you can and you really want 32 watts or better per sq. ft. or better and you have about 28. If you add the lights your temp will rise, so can you vent the heat? Oops, missed the no vent post. What about using small chunks (less then 1/4 lb.) of dry ice in a small foam chest with the top open in front of the circulation fan. That would cool the closet and raise the CO2. The major posible problem is CO2 levels over 2500 ppm are harmful to you and your plants. You really need to find a way to vent the closet.:smokin:
