Any advice/tips on harvesting top to bottom as the colitas mature? My question is this........ Has anyone out there in the culture experimented clipping flowers as they mature at the top then working your way down as the remaining colitas mature at a later date?

Ive only done it a couple times. I usually just chop the whole plant. When i did do it i just took a small leave from each bud and looked at it under the microscope. If it was the way i liked i chopped that bud off. I usually cut mine at around 10% amber. Thats just how i did it so i couldnt tell you if it was the "Proper" way of doing things.

This is called a double harvest.... A really great way to get two different effects from the same plant(s)....

The best way I have found to achieve this is by harvesting all the apical buds when they are 50% clear and 50% cloudy.... Then lower the lamps and let the lower buds catch more light until the trichs reach 50% cloudy - 50% amber.... (see pics, I helped someone else with this a couple months ago....)

You can keep three bags.... Daytime(first harvest), Night(second harvest) and Surprise .... Break down all the buds to the same size in the surprise bag so it truly will be a surprise :jointsmile:....

I love it when that happens :jointsmile:.... Just keep an eye on your humidity late in flower....especially if you have large colas....

Wanted to do it today but the lights went out. I admire ur alternative view (Pushit & Smokemypiece as well) & also that you haven't bum rushed criticized my newbie azz. Can't believe all of the hate out there. I showed a few pics on the "Rollitup" board & took crap for cutting off the fan leaves. Why some people act like sheeple puzzles me?

Think'n bout taking 'em down today? One plant in particular is ready but I'm so frigg'n attached to 'em that I feel as though I'm killing them!!!
