I didnt know at the time mylar would jump the temps up around 10 degrees.
Thing is that I have brick and painting will entail a huge amount of work on my part. The walls of the attic are quite dirty and I can only work on it for a few hours at a time (I need a ladder to get to the attic and people will start to get suspicious as to why I'm constantly going up there. That's why I was thinking of foil or the cardboard, or even putting a plastic covering and then foil over it. Tomorrow I'm finishing the flowering room and then buying a timer and I'm starting the 12/12 regimen. From what you said and what I've read, the plants will grow quite a bit during flowering, so it's best that I get it started. I doubt that the indicas will get to 6 feet but maybe the sativa will. I've already gotten clones from both big plants and so far they haven't wilted (this was done on Monday).

Plus I want to start them flowering because I haven't a clue as to the strain they are (so I can bug ya again with a question )

    Cheers!

PS I don't have a problem with heat cause the attic is a bit drafty and I don't live in a climate like NY city or Toronto, the coldest it gets here is like 45°F and the hottest is 95 (I'll vent in that case, but it's several months until summer comes around)

P.S.S already at 16 inches and they're responsible for filling my entire attic (almost 80 square meters) with their sweet, strong smell. Imagine when I have 10+, lol. Is that normal? I mean, I know that cannabis smells, but that strong in veg state?

Strong smell early in veg is a very good sign,
    You said sweet.
Is there any musk to it?
Dunno if you folks have skunks down there, but if your gals start smelling "skunky", do a happy dance.

    Aloha,

Pardon this question, but I think that it's a question of language barrier, what do you mean by musk? I thought that my english was good

Kind of like, "light-struck" Corona beer.

I understand now, thanks! I just put my 2 ladies into flowering (they've reached 18 inches and from what I understand from reading up on everything and being told by you fine people that the plants grow between 200% and 300% when flowering), although I do have a lot of space, I only have about 7-8 feet in height total (for both lamp height and plant height).

As for the smell, I'd say that it's a sweet weed smell, the kind that makes you want to stick your face in the plant, and it is potent in the sense that only 2 plants, both 18 inches tall, stunk up my attic and part of my house whenever I open the trap door to the attic, hehehehe. I don't know if it has a skunk smell or not yet, I'd have to wait for the flowers to appear I guess because the "sweetness" is "overpowering." It's going to get a lot "worse" because the 3 clones that I made have survived and hopefully will grow into big fine, sexy ladies.

As for the clones, I cut them on Monday and so far so good , but I wanted to know if they are rooting properly. Is there any way to tell? I mean, is it possible for me to check to see if there are roots forming? This is my setup:

I have both the clones and the small lady under 24/0 light (105 w fluorescent light). Is that okay?

    Thanks for all your help!

Mine are easy, I jus pick it up and look.
But, I see that you are rooting them in soil.

    Here's a tip;
When rooting in soil, use a clear container.
Most folks believe that light is bad for the roots, so nest the clear container in an opaque container and just lift it out to check for roots.

I use water, so I can see the progress.
I have used brown beer bottles because they block the light.
And I have used clear class jars that do not.
I saw zero difference in time and quality, so draw your own conclusions.

When rooting in soil, wait at least a week or two, then very gently, give a li'l tug.
(If it comes right out, it wasn't rooted, ju's put it back an' wait some more. )

Then, let it take up most of the water.
When the soil starts to dry, it pulls away from the pot sides.
    Time to up-pot.
Do not water until after the potting.
A little dryness keeps the rootball together.

24/7 is OK for growing, if a tad stressful.
But for rooting, I'd advise a few hours of rest.
    Roots grow at night too.

    Saw your "sexing" thread.
    Here's a trick for sexing early;

That's a fine camera, and you know how to use it.
So, grab a a penlight and a good 10X lens or a camera on macro.
Hold the penlight behind the node and take a good macro picture from in front.
The pre-bud can be seen inside the node before it surfaces.
If it has a stem, it's probably a male.
    No tiny stem?
Happy dance, ladies in da house!

    Aloha,
    Weeze
