    Light Color

Does anyone know if a light being 5000K vs a light being 2700K (same watts) would be better or not?

Im asking this because I found some CFL lights that can get to be about the equivalent of 400 watt bulbs that fit in normal sockets, use less energy, and NO HEAT. So I see this as being something better than HPS considering they can be REALLY close to the plants even though the HPS might have better quality light for the plants.

I use a Envirolite and u can have it about 1 inch from the plant wich is better cause the plant cant really stretch, but yeah the 5000k should be better cause its more about the lumens, the only difference is my Envirolite would,nt fit in a normal socked, it needs a E40 fittin, but dont need a ballast.

Hi,the 5000K light dont necessarily give more lumens but i belive that the 5000K light gives more light in blue spectrum and the 2700 more light in red spectrum,so the 5000K is better for veg.
