Is this illegal?
Ok so I'm worried for my parents, who rent their second home to these people growing several reccomondations at once. Indoor all throughout the home and outdoor in a huge field. A mother is growing her 18 year old sons reccomondations as well as her own and several other people's. She has a 16 year old who lives there as well. They are not in a cooperative, this is a for-profit grow where they sell the "surplus" illegally. If they get busted, are my parents in danger for having allowed it?
They are so easy to manipulate it makes me sick. My mom is such a nice person and just doesnt understand. I'm not suggesting they charge more rent like the mafia or something. But I think these people should be encouraged to form a legal collective/co-op. Im so afraid they could lose the house or get their own charges if these people continue on without a collective being formed.
Am I being paranoid? This seems like it could be totally OK but the t's need to be crossed and the i's dotted.Superscared Reviewed by Superscared on . Is this illegal? You only need one script to grow up to 99 plants so that part is probably "legal".
Selling it is another thing all together, if you know this for a fact.

Here's a couple links for ya.... Local Medical Marijuana Guidelines "California State County,& City Medical Marijuana Plant Count Limits"
It looks as though each county can decide the plant count limits....where they came up with the magical number 6, I'll never know.... A doctors recommendation can also include a larger amount if the doc feels like the patient may benefit from a larger amount than the county set regulations....
Growing for profit though is prohibited....and so is growing cannabis, in the Feds eyes....so if they do indeed get caught and charged federally, your parents home could very well be seized....IF law enforcement officials go after them....
You have every right to be concerned.... Might want to convince your parents that those people need to go right after their outdoor harvest.... What sucks is that hopefully they don't get butt hurt when asked to leave and trash the house....cause some people are like that....not saying they are, but would suck....
You could also try to befriend them and find out if they are at least taking care of the property....
Just my :twocents:....

Yes, I'd try to be friendly because becoming confrontational could cause a lot of other problems. IF you're that concerned contact the sheriff anonymously and express your concerns.

State law does not trump federal law.
Federal forfeiture/seizure laws would have me looking for that answer pronto, as the feds could easily assume your knowledge and complicity in the illegal activity. Have you looked-up breakdowns of federal plant-count levels insofar as penalties...?
If you confront the tenants about this, perhaps they'll get the idea and at least be more discrete. But if they were to get busted after that point, regardless of your involvement in the bust, likely they would blame you. (would they "get even"?)
Despite the fact that being a "snitch" is deemed uncool, if they are breaking laws that MIGHT get your home seized...tough shit. Let 'em go put someone else's stuff at risk.

Thank you for the links and info, I think these people are within their limits on plants...if I can't reason with my mom to look into it for legalities sake then maybe she will if only to see if there has been damage to the indoor areas.
They have not had a walk thru in 5 years and all she knows is that they put up a huge fence around the field and told her there was nothing to see, "just storage" in the garage and upstairs bedrooms

As owners you(or your parents) have every right to enter your property as long as you give proper notice, they can't deny you entry period. You can't just show up but you can give them a 24 hour notice of inspection of the property without having to give a reason, if they refuse tell them the sheriff can assist you.
