Lighting question
hey , im using a 600w HPS in the last 2 weeks of veg , 18/6 . this is to big for my setup about 2 meters sq.
im having problems with heat 32c so when im not there i switch to some CFL/t5 flors , about 110w total.
so mid week hps is on 8 hours , flor is on 10 hours .
will this hurt the plants ? and can i continue this in to flower stage and finish ? i know it will effect yield .
it is my first attempt and just on a learning curve .

Lighting question
I don't think it would hurt the plants.... Your yield will be reduced though....
Think of it like direct and indirect sunlight....the 600w being direct intense light, and the floros as indirect lighting.... It's the total time of light period that will make them flower so doing this shouldn't cause too much stress....
It would be best to find a way to control temps in your grow area.... Got an A/C register in the room??? If so, you can easily extend it into your tent, if you don't already have that going....
After all, you didnt get yourself that 600w to just end up turning it off halfway during light cycles....find a way to control temps so you can take advantage of what you have available to you....
Hope this helps....

Depending on the capabilities of your timer, you might want to put the 600w on for an hour/off for an hour or some similar schedule to keep temps down until you can get proper cooling.>>>>
Good advice right there! You could alternate between the flouro's and the 600W so you're not losing much lighting time, maybe up the T5's to 200W though.

Lighting question
ok guys tks for the help
iv given them 2 full days of the HPS and have seen 4" of growth with the temp maxed at 32c/85f in US dollers?
i have set a blade of airflow between the lamp and the tallest plant , the light is 20" away ,
i might try the on / off idea and switch between the HPS and flors. i plan to flower starting in 5 days .
iv started a grow log if anyone is interested .
tks again for the help .

"you might want to put the 600w on for an hour/off for an hour or some similar schedule"
I can't recommend that PD, as that's going to stress the ballast and bulb with multiple cyclings and could possibly cause premature failure of both.

Pardon my poor suggestion and ignorance. I am not an HID guy and was unaware of the shortened life. Sorry!
