It only seems to work for me if I smoke it. I'm not a smoker, and even after a year, I still get a terrible cough...whether I use a joint, pipe or bong. So I don't want to smoke my meds. Unfortunately, however, smoking seems to be the only method that hits me fast enough

So my question is, which alternate method delivers mmj effects the fastest? I need it to kick in FAST -- when I wake in the middle of the night, I don't want to be up for an hour waiting for my buzz to kick in.

So far, edibles don't work, because they take too long to kick in.
Tinctures don't work for me, either -- the high I get is not a "sleepy" high. Same with my vaporizer (Iolite).

I have heard that a THC liquid exists, which hits faster than tincture... but this can only be obtained with a prescription from a "real" doctor, at a "real" pharmacy. Obvioulsy, my "real" doc won't have anything to do with that...and my mmj doc has gone out of business So I guess that's out.


Anyone have any experience/advice with this issue? All help is massively appreciated!
I have bad insomnia as well where I can fall asleep all right, but wake up over and over in the night. Each time I wake up it is harder and harder to go to sleep. I have had to do several things to help change this, and they work most of the time. They are as follows:

Prepare for the night ahead of time (be preemptive)by...
~No caffeine after 5pm
~go to sleep and wake up at a regular time most every day.
~have a nighttime routine that is the same every night. (I like to turn down the lights and have a relaxing tea before bed so I am in the right mindset for sleep).
~get some sun (mainly for the vitamin D) everyday (doesn't have to be a lot, just a few minutes here and there works)


If I need to make sure I get a good night's sleep, I will take an edible ahead of time, not when I awake in the middle of the night, but about 2 hours before I go to sleep for the longest potency. I know you said that edibles do not kick in fast enough but perhaps you have not used them in a preemptive manner? (if I am wrong pls forgive ). If I wake in the middle of the night still, it takes a lot Less mmj to go back to sleep with (for example: have a quick short session with your mmj, take one or two hits off of a vape or I take one or two hits of smoke (though I know you are trying to avoid smoking) or take a few dropper fulls of a tincture (you might find it works different along with an edible).

The idea with insomnia for me is to be preemptive, hence why I do all that I do to sleep through the night better than i ever had before.

If I think of more things I will post them here.
