I'm faily new here and compared to above mentioned experiences this forum seems fairly tame. I haven't even noticed any references to moderators but I have learned it's not good to challenge them as they do have the power to ban you.

This site is free but it can't be free to operate so I'll reserve my critisizm although the the busy server thing can be annoying it generally seems brief.

I think there are a LOT of redundant postings which could be addressed by a little more moderation I think because a lot of people are lazy and don't bother to search a forum before posting general questions which have probably been answered dozens of times over.
The over-moderation tends to come from those with nothing better to do or too obsessed with their little corner of the internet.

I do believe we still have a lack of moderators. I shouldn't be one due to my current ties with commercial endeavors, as that would pose a conflict of interest. No doubt I'd get some recommendations, but I just can't do it for now.

I wish we could implement a system that would semi-scan a post and suggest similar threads before allowing a post - and you WOULD have to read at least a few threads before being allowed to post your post. Granted, it would be mad annoying, BUT it would really cut down redundant posting, plus stop billions of nonsensical threads.

Information wants to be free, but it can't be free when it's weighed down by redundancy, which quite often introduces flawed information.
