OVER RUN WITH MITES!!! URGENT FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!!

    Easy!

Tonight, turn a trash can upside down over each plant.
Place a fresh, no-pest strip in each can.
Wait 2 hours, or all night.
    Remove the cans.
    Dead mites.

Seal the NPS in a gallon zip lock and put it in a cool, dark, place.
    You will need it again.

No pest strips are a vapor release chemical.
They are fairly safe for people and pets but deadly to wee critters like the borg.
Because it is a vapor, there is little, if any, residue.
Arguably the safest, most effective, remedy available.

    Now, here's the important part.
The eggs are still viable but it takes 3 or 4 days for new hatch to mature enough to lay more eggs.
So, whether you see live mites or not, in 3 days, do it again!
That will kill the new hatch before they breed.

And, just to be sure, repeat one more time in 3 more days.

My gals are outdoors, in containers,
I bring them in when I see mites and put them in a shower stall for a couple hours.

And get some dryer sheets to cover the soil.
    Spider mites weaken the plants.
    Weak plants invite attack.
Lay the sheets on the soil surface and you will shield your ladies from fungus gnats, whiteflies, and root aphids all in one swell foop.

That will be 2 cents, please.

    Aloha and good luck.

Thanks Weezard, I love the dryer sheet idea! I grow outside in containers too and earlier this year I saw the beginnings of spider mites (my second grow ever). My first grow, I wrestled with those suckers for about a month before I discovered Neem oil. This year I sprayed with Neem twice, three days apart and six weeks later I haven't seen a hint of one. I will use dryer sheets anyway because an ounce of protection means more ounces in the future! And I wouldn't be afraid of poison on the bud like with Neem. I'm only afraid it would trap moisture and lead to gray mold (another problem on my first grow I'm trying to avoid this time). There is a lot of humidity outside here especially in late summer when the buds are so vulnerable, so I've been spraying Serenade weekly as a preventative. So do you cover all the surface soil of the pot with the sheets or leave some open space?

Each day I have been rotating plants into a closet with a NPS but today after moving them into the garage I took one of those large plastic drop cloths and covered up one plant and hung the NPS from a branch. They're getting a little too big for that closet and this is MUCH easier!
