    Lighting Issue

Hello, I have a few questions, I Just built a grow room and Have 4 (4' FL 5200k lights) and 2 (23 watt spiral cfl's running at 2700k). i bought the lights not looking at the color temps. So I have a vegging plant and understand that I need 6500k spectrum, now does the light spectrum effect the plants ability to start flowering, or does the lighting time such as 12/12 play a bigger role. Basically, all I'm asking is that will my plant suffer from a couple of days under these lights until I can replace them, or will they go into flower mode? I do not want my plant trying to flower early, I know it takes plants days even weeks to build up enough hormones to begin flowering, I just want some input.

no the spectrum will not eeffect your flowering. when you swotch to 12/12 then your plant will flower.

I second that. Unless you have an autoflower your plant will begin its bloom period when you change the lights to 12/12. The light colours you have are also not the worst thing in the world for veging - your plant won´t be suffering. I´m not saying don´t change to 6500K but just don´t panic about having to do it immediately.
    All the best

Ditto on the 12/12 info. As for your lighting - the specific lights for vegging/flowering are only guidelines - many growers use ONLY MH or ONLY HPS throughout the entire grow, it's just that MJ has been proven to undergo a bit less stress when given the specific types of light during the respective cycles. I like to mix it up during both cycles, and you will notice that some newer lights coming out these days offer a bit from both spectrums, both in MH and HPS. Good luck!
